Post by: ReploidQ on 17 July 2008, 08:51:56
Ok this was a doodle of Wily's best, and my fav.  As it is when i finished it i disliked the picture very much. but better things are on their way. Just wanted to throw up something this morning. Enjoy.

Wily seems to have a very small hand.

The picture of your girlfriend is good, but...
... that pink hair is seriously giving me a headache.

Post by: ASR on 17 July 2008, 15:03:57
I like the colors of the pink hair, and the hair itself. Nice work.

Don't like the Wily pic too much, but it's all stuff that can be worked on.

Post by: ReploidQ on 17 July 2008, 19:24:16
yeah the wily pic was just a doodle but ill make something better in a megaman style soon. gotta focus on the comic book iv been hired to work on tho. its a kickass summer job

Just doodled this up while i was babysitting lol.

Not bad, but it seems a little awkward.

Title: Re: Art Of Q
Post by: Chron on 17 July 2008, 22:57:28
That's just because it's an MMZ style Model ZX.

any suggestions on what to do to better my megaman styles. i havnt tried doing much of any megaman stuff b4

You're art's pretty good. Most of time the faces and heads art distorted, though. And great job changing around your title so it doesn't sound like 'The O's Art'.
The O's Art - Art of Q

They seem very alike. Watcha gonna paraphrase next?

Actually, seriously looking at it it looks a lot more like Mike's topic anyway, so you have no right to complain.

Like you have room to speak, The faces look fine...

Also, Whenever "the O's art" updates, I think Opal updated. She was "The O" WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY before you got here. So change yours.

Back on topic, Q, I really like 'Mel Start.jpg' The color, toning, Lines, everything seems to be in it's place. Having characters interact seems to be awkward for you, I suggest inking the full characters, and computer editing them in with each other. It's more work, but it pays off in the long run.

Finally I reserve my opinion of The MMZ/ZX one, No one can draw that style without looking like a complete idiot.

Hah. Banky. Nice one.

Anyway...

Listen Q-bert, I don't know you. That means I don't particularly like or dislike you. That means I'm not particularly fond of you photocopying the title of my thread. That from that what you will, but your signature preaches creativity, so I suggest you go that route.

Artwise I'll have to check your stuff another time, as for whatever reason my wireless router is being screwy and I don't want to spend any more time than is necessary on my desktop PC, which I can barely tolerate.

Well out of respect I changed the threads title. I like your work, hope you enjoy my little doodles. It was a honest mistake as my deviant art is Art of Knight.  so i thought i would replace Knight with Q, because of my account on MMM. Anyways ill be putting something a bit better then this stuff soon. Hope everyone is enjoying my fan stuff  :D

Robot Girl needs some diddly-boppers.

It would fit her hair excellently.
But don't take my word for it.

Her character design is nice. Linework not so much, but it's not horrible.
Keep it up, Q.

Opal = Alex The Penguin

And with talk like that your bound to upset the penguin. Not a good idea.

Not everyone here's known solely by their sign-in name, Ocelot.

Your topic name does confuse me, because I keep thinking it's mine. >_>

QBasic: I really enjoy your style. It reminds me a lot of a friend of mine's art style.

Thats because the letter Q is a poser. It's just another O trying to be unique but failing! Either that or it has a tail due to genetic defects.

'Q' is so much more masculine, I mean, Look at it's long attachment. It really knows how to please the ladies like 'e' or 'c'

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork
Post by: Johncarllos on 18 July 2008, 23:18:05
A good "C" has more experience though.

Q, your stuff's not bad, you can draw individual pieces of bodies quite well, you just can't seem to glue them all together well.
I suggest outlining a frame first, or getting a wood mannequin to pose. Look at some of Wind's, Mike's, or Lunche's art if you don't know what I mean. They have to get the structure right before they add details.

My sarcasm can beat your sarcasm, hun, so don't try it. And not only was "oreo" a weird descriptive, but it's not even correct, as the drawing does have colour in it too.

You would have avoided having to come up with any sort of sarcastic response if you didn't use a weird term like "oreo style" to describe a picture that's mostly gray and white.

Seriosuly, what is with you and these random as hell phrases?

"The Big Oral"?

"Oreo style"?

What?

Also, it's not black and white, that's why Mike was asking.

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork

Most of it is in black and white. And I already said I'm random.

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork
Post by: ChaosVortex on 30 July 2008, 21:09:32
Exactly. That's not black and white. Black and white has no color.

I have two pictures in my creation station which were scanned into black and white by accident.

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork
Post by: ASR on 31 July 2008, 00:46:12
It isn't black and white. It doesn't matter what you call it. I could call a dog black. I could call a Douglas Adams book horrible. I could call you tolerable.
It doesn't mean it's true.

It isn't black and white. It's got other colors in there, and that contributes to the color-scheme in a unique style, and if those other colors weren't there, the piece would be completely different.

And I already said I'm random.

What does that even mean? You'll outgrow the "random things are funny" phase, trust me. It's hardly an excuse for anything, even while you think random things are funny.

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork

Trust me, you do. You also do it to be "quirky" or "weird" or "to stand out" or "to get attention" whether or not you want to admit any of those things, and that's okay, because you'll figure it out in time.

Also, when you do something weird or say something stupid, you get a built-in fallback excuse.

No, Otaku, look at his post. He meant a 30-year-old man.

If he had said:

He just used hypens poorly.

He meant a 30-something year-old man.

You forget the part where ACTUAL quirky people are less understood BECAUSE they're quirky. So maybe she's just being herself.

I think you would do well not to just assume what someone's thinking whenever they say or do something, because people are more different than you'd like to think.

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork
Post by: Majikn on 31 July 2008, 07:47:16
So was I. But I still firmly believe that I was just being myself. I got impulses and I just... followed through with them. Most of the time it was funny or at least unquestionably weird for people to just be like "You're weird" and shrug it off. Unfortunately though I'd get encouraged and when I started TRYING to be random was when it started to get stupid.

Though there were always people who were like "What the ##### is wrong with you?" at the first sign of weird/awkwardness, just to make me feel embarassed and boost their own ego, no doubt. To me they're just stuck-up pieces of #####, and they're the reason my life in high school was as crappy as it was.

My apologies to ReploidQ.

Its when someone sees the letters in words in random order.

ebrNsume o.to

Title: Re: ReploidQ's Artwork
Post by: Mikero on 3 August 2008, 03:52:57
No, it's not.

First off, you don't SEE the letters or numbers incorrectly at all, you comprehend them incorrectly. Often, people will mix up letters like b, d, p, and q which are all very similar in shape.

Dyslexia, at least as far as with reading and spelling in letters (i.e. not numbers), has to do with mixing up how letters relate as sounds. Dyslexics wouldn't comprened the letters in a random order, but would mix up two of the letters that are in word (often happens if the the word they end up with is similar looking to the correct word). So generally the entire word wouldn't be jumbled (I've just realized that word jumbles are a rather cruel game).

They also have more trouble with homophones than others, and almost everyone has trouble with homophones, so imagine that.

Q, here's my opinion on your work; I'd say you need to work a lot on your hands and general anatomy, and judging from your first post in this thread you seem to be much more skilled drawing realistic portraits rather than anime. You've got potential, just practise a lot and you could get really good in no time.

Everything looks stretched, especially from the neck up. Like exaggerated.

I think that's the point Mike.

Yeah, I think it's intentional.

It's a good job.

Yeah, I know. I'm not stupid. But there's a limit. There's stretching that is intentional, purposeful, and structurally correct. This isn't that.

This is stretched comically, and I don't mean that as funny or like in comic books. I mean that as meaning that it's stretched too much.

Trust me, I'm in animation. I know a thing or two about stretch and squash and exaggeration, which are two of the most basic principles of animation.

Yeah, this Vash looks like he drew it normal, and then went into Paint and stretched it vertically a bit for no apparent reason.
