Which 3 Video Game Icons do you love the most? I would have to say Link, Marth, and Zero.

As fail as these topics usually are, I love you for putting Earthworm Jim on there.

It ALMOST excuses the fact that you didn't vote for MegaMan.

I was originally going to vote for him, but I changed it to Zero because I figured just about everyone was going to vote for Mega Man.

Not doing something because everyone else is going to do it is just as bad as doing it BECAUSE everyone else is going to do it.

I voted Mega Man because he is the Icon that got me into Video Games and kept me playing them. Donkey Kong because I was nicknamed after him in school, and Black Mage because I just recently started playing Final Fantasy 1 again.

Meh. I've always been over Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man games.

Good thing Ristar is on the list. I'm not voting for him, but I'm glad he's there.

I voted MegaMan, Donkey Kong, and Rayman.

MegaMan for obvious reasons, Donkey Kong for the absolutely flawless DKC series (and DK64), and Rayman because Rayman 2 was one of my favorite games when I was younger.

Luigi, Kirby, and Diddy Kong.

Diddy wasn't on there, but that's who I would've picked.

I'm pretty sure Luigi isn't on there either. I'm silly like that.

Megaman, Kirby and Black Mage, although really I wish Cloud were there instead of Black Mage. As much as I hate Cloud now for being such a popular character, I used to love him.

I never really got into the video games, but the cartoon show was the best.

I stand by my previous picks (Mega Man, Earthworm Jim, Simon Belmont), but still think this poll fails due to the sheer number of great video game characters out there. There are simply too many awesome characters still missing, and a lot of the characters on the poll simply fail.

Uhm, why the hell is R.O.B. on there? Not everyone in a Smash Bros. game is a "Video Game Icon". Neither is Metaknight and if I look closer at the list I'm certain I'll find more. Popular character ≠ Icon. Icons are like the symbol of the game series; Your Sonics, your Kirbys, your Marios. They are the game.

Aside from Megaman...None I REALLY like are on that list.

My favs are...Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen, and Megaman of course.

Its hard to pick just three though...Sonic, Mario, and Link are great too.

So is Samus, but at least she's a sexy lady and has a much better game series (not counting the insulting to the platforming action adventure genre Prime games).  I mean, which would you rather pay to see nakid?  That's right.  That's why Samus is iconic and Master Chief is just a character from a bad game.

My reasons for disliking Frog aside, the whole reason I liked Magus was because we didn't know much about him. We knew about his childhood (which I thought was a fantastic twist), and we knew about the bad-ass he became. Sure, he was a dark/broody kid, and grew into a dark/broody adult, but he was so fully committed to avenging his sister that I was sad we didn't get to see more of his journey.

Then again, maybe not knowing was what made me like him.

But Frog? Come on man. Appearance aside, he was the generic knight character, all the way. His mentor slain by the man that would become his arch-rival, his manner of speech, his extreme fielty, all of it. The only thing that made him remotely interesting was his sword, which was just two sentient creatures anyway, meaning any coolness the sword had was only Frogs by proxy.

Chrono is still my favorite though. So much character, without ever speaking a word. (nevermind that one ending)

The days of the silent protagonist... how I miss them.  It also just shows how well written it was to convey so much w/o having him speak a word.
