There was no doubt Pokemon was going to be a good game
Were we reading the same internet? It's been ##### on constantly at every turn. And still is eve more now that it's out. That said, the overwhelming majority of people seem to be mostly not bothered and like the game, as evidence by the staggering sales numbers. It's mostly just a very VERY vocal minority bitching non stop.

It looks decent enough to see. So I will. Before the model swap it looked like it might fall into the "so bad it's good" category. Now it looks like it might just be decent on it's own merit.

Anyone who likes Burnout should check out Asphalt 9 on Switch. It's a free-to-play game and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Free to play is a giant glowing red light to hard pass on something.

X9 can rot. Not interested in 3 playable characters, Axl focused plot, unfocused stage design, and handcuffed must mesh with garbage Zero series timeline more important than self contained game.
Classic has never not been good. X is an outright septic tank at this point, and has been for several games.

Oh, no, nothing would get me to play this piece of ##### mobile game. Nothing about it appeals to me in a mobile game design. The only thing it gives us is some fairly nice 3D models to rip. And I'd love to have an official 3D render of Iris!

That kind of game is made for just adding new models/characters and charging $5 each for them. If they start adding new characters, Iris is surely towards the top of the list.

That might have just been the quality that stuff exists in for those. I could believe the only footage they have are the compressed low quality PS4 versions of it. It wouldn't be the first time original high quality masters were lost or just not kept.

but if it gets ridiculous and starts demanding I pay to win I'll just drop it like most other gacha games.
...seriously? It's not "if" it's "when". That's LITERALLY the type of game it is.

Some of those might be actual new remixes, unless they're reused from something I haven't seen before. But most are actual music from MHX and X4. Granted X4 has a bitch'n soundtrack, but it's a really odd choice of things to mix and match from.

I mean, I guess we're lucky they didn't just reuse MHX and MM8 3D models. But yeah, the only good thing to come out of this are some nice 3D models, some new key artwork, Rico, and maybe some new remixes.

No one should be surprised about this. It's mobile #####. It's LITERALLY what mobile games do and how they are. No one should have expected an actual game.

I don't give two #####s if they add every single game ever released on the NES, SNES, GB, GBA, and N64 for their online service tomorrow. I don't want to rent the #####ing games, I want to BUY them. I want the option to buy them, not rent. That's my point, and the fact is they're just adding their old catalogs as rentals tied to their online service INSTEAD of having them available to buy permanently like other digital titles they offer on the eshop or past virtual consoles.
It's not a hard concept to get. I don't care if they add stuff to the online service to "add value" to it as long as they have a normal virtual console to let us buy the games outright and own them (as much as you can own a digital game). But they're NOT doing that, they're just dumping ##### onto the online service. That isn't a substitute for a virtual console.

The online is awful, and holding a proper virtual console hostage to "add value" to it is disgusting. We won't be seeing a virtual console on Switch because Nintendo is clearly only offering it's older games as part of it's online service. Enjoy your access to them depending on Nintendo's whim or the licensing of the 3rd party games.
If they had a proper virtual console where you could buy the games you want normally like on the Wii or Wii U AND just dumped all of them as a bonus for online subscribers, then it would be fine. But they aren't and they won't. I think it's painfully clear what their business model is for it.

I don't like streaming games for the same reason I don't like digital only games. You don't own them. Streaming a passive experience vs an interactive one can't be compared. You can record a movie or song, and play it back and it's the same as streaming it because you passively interact with it. Games require input and interaction, and you can't replicate that by doing a recording.

You guys are literally blind. The art looks amazing and crisp, and blows the original DS sprites out of the water.

Keep in mind that streaming also completely deprives you of any ownership of the games. You never even have a local copy, it's all stored off site. This exacerbates the problem of games or content disappearing once licenses expire. Don't think for a moment that isn't what developers want to do so they have total control over what you can buy or do. It's the worst possible option for gamers and consumers, and the ONLY thing really holding it back is the decrepit internet infrastructure and pricing we have on it.
