MegaMan Matrix / The Creation Station / Re: Ask Doctor Wily

One thing you'll notice (hopefully) is that most of the Matrix folk are in character. Or as close to in character as one can be. This is often a fatal flaw of n00b comics. You have to make sure you nail members quirks and personality or you're doomed to fail.

Time for a blast from the past folks. This little tale is considered by many to represent the penicle of Matrix sprite comics as well as capturing the Golden Age of Matrixdom. n00bs take notes as this can be a valuable lesson on how to do Matrix community fan works. After the show the good Doctor may even be available to take a few questions, cha? Posted on: 12 December 2007, 01:31:33
Fun fact, the first two comics were done by Professor Hazard, as I'd never put sprite to photoshop before. After comic 2 though, I took over, and as you'll see, I was not the most skilled spriter. However over the course of the comic I think I got a lot better. YOU BE THE JUDGE.

Actually it was never suppose to be the actual character from slayers. Hazard just did a sprite for him and I went with it. But it wasn't too long before He did up an actual custom sprite that eventually became what I use today. A Red Priesty thing. But the tomatoe stick remains.

Only vets or old time members know the true origins of my Tomatoe Stick and Nibbles. Woe be to you whom does not know thier splendor or power.
The "tomatoe stick" is my staff. My old OLD Rezo sprite's staff looked like a stick with a tomato on it. Tomatoe is a funny misspelling of tomato so that's what stuck. Nibbles is my vorpol bunny.
Now that you know, feel free to cower in fear.

Cyber Elfs, in concept and in gameplay, were utter failures. And frankly, there was no reason to make Zero play any different than he did in the X series. That's HOW he played. Failure from the start was forcing a change in gameplay when one was not needed.

Sorry Aresian, I don't swing that way.
And yes, the reason Matrix, and it's family were always the best places were because we do debate and do challange people. Being a Mega Man fan DOESN'T mean you sugar coat every game that comes out and beg for more. It means there is a LOT of dissatisfaction and displeasure in the fandom. It's a passionate fandom.
And the staff here is very hands on. We don't sit on a pedistle looking down. We get down and dirty and in your face. And we're good enough at what we do that we can do it without "ZOMG ABUSE POWER". I don't have to ban someone to win an argument. If I start some ##### I don't ban someone for finishing it. None of us do. So don't worry about that.
AND STOP POSTING SO DAMN FAST...
You don't talk about something with a "neutral" attitude and expect to have a good discussion.

It's probably not. But it's no X series.
And any discussion of the series and/or story (any series really) WILL include negatives and reasons to hate. You don't just sing and dance in the flowers and circle jerk over how good it is. Go to MMN if you want to do that.

Most of what I've read indicates the first half of the story is better paced in the Manga, but the 2nd half is better paced in the Anime (minus the ending).
I might check out the manga sometime, but it's not high on my list.

Metool > Metall, sorry.
Vile = Boba Fett rip off of epic coolness (so MHX won't be included in this)
Wiel = insulting Wily wannabe.
The main point is we're on an English language MEGA MAN board, and there are enough differences that you should not mix the terminology. You want to talk about Rockman, go to a Japanese site.

That was a general statement, though relevant to THIS discussion as well. It relates to the anal raping MMZ has done to the X series, so discussing how awful it is, is actually quite relivant. MMZ has a good deal of hate for it. Get used to it.

Death Note is entertaining in the same way Yu-Gi-Oh is: unintentionally.
Really, this series is watchable, but it's just too ridiculous. Light should have been caught a hundred times over, but whenever that would happen, he catches a "lucky break" and then brains his way out of what should have been game over. Not just once or twice mind you, but EVERY DAMN TIME. Now, having the protagonist think his way out of a situation is good, but not when he has to be given plot kai luck of the gods to be able to do that in the first place. Light thought ahead a lot, but not enough. If not for the plot dependant luck there would have been no story. And therein lies the fact the show is hilarious. Seeing the utter disregard for what should be L's side nailing him by just out thinking/out performing/out doing Light by him being almost told by the author that "hey you're going to get caught if you don't..." is funny.
In short, I don't hate Death Note, but it's not a very good anime either.

The Gameboy games and Mega Man and Bass are NOT the best games to judge classic by. The console Mega Man games really make the Game Boy games look... bad.
Also, after the X series, everyone is dead. "Cyber Elf" versions or "Model" versions of characters are less than living. As was said, for all intents and purposes they are dead. They only server to remind you you're playing inferrior versions of THEIR games.

DANCE PUPPETS, DANCE!
... no, but seriously, no one complained about X and Zero in the X series because they still looked pretty much like Classic series in terms of asthetics and design. Mega Man Zero took those established characters, made them look like 10 year olds in thongs and spandex and gave them big boots and vests.
I'll also just point out, Zero playes better in X4 than he does in ANY MMZ game. Aside from that, almost everything in MMZ on the most basic gameplay and stage design standpoint was nerfed and inferrior to any classic and X game through X4.
Not to mention the flip side of story and continuity, which MMZ cemented as being pure fetid garbage. Classic is perfectly cohesive. X makes perfect sense through X4. MMZ itself has more rewrites in it's 4 games than X does in 8 games (and even then it's going back to try to fit in with MMZ that causes 95% of X's problems).

Dragon Warrior 1 should be up... or should have BEEN up while the site was.
I mean, I have the ost for it done.
... I think.
And the covers that I put up there don't represent all the albums the site has done. Just the covers for those albums I finished and chose to preview.

If IHX for PSP and it's cancel deal is any indication, then no, nobody's going to like how they'll likely rewrite the entire storyline and motives.
Capcom will! Classic - all good (even though MM8's "evil energy" is goofey even for classic). X canon stops at X4. X5 and up, MMZ, ZX - Alternate dimension GO NUTS! Legends, different universe, ignore poor attempts by MMZ, ZX to tie lead weights to Legend's feet to drown it in fetid timeline. Battle Network, Starforce - different universe (for now BWA HA HA oh Capcom) no one cares GO NUTS! That's how any sane person should view it. You don't retcon the original/old stuff that works to make new stuff that DOESN'T work all line up. Simple as that.

A 3d ZX game? How about 3d ZXA? I've been wanting a new Axl game for years (me and the rest of the Axl fans out there... all three of them).
I'm sorry, all I could make out there was "I'm a gigantic retard". Joke or not statements like that should be a bannable offence. Axl is the poster child for what's wrong with Mega Man today.
