Unless I've missed something in the whole Megaman back-story.

You haven't, but Classic has always been presented as the robots being like people.  So when the X series came along and proclaimed "FREE WILL AT LAST LOL" it meant that somehow X and reploids were different from classic robots even though they both act the same.

So we just have to settle that classic robots don't have true free will, and are just programmed to appear like they do.  Works for me.

Cyber Elfs fly out of Zero's ass and eat Mega Man, Roll, Protoman and Otto.  Then Cyber Elf Rock seals Zero in cyberspace, which catches Wily in the process, turning him into a computer program that will take over reploids later.

THAT'S HOW THEY'D DO IT ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

That's just one of many, many reasons to sell your PS3!

See, I have a PS3, and no desire what-so-ever to own a 360.

The only area in which the 360 excels is online play, and the PS3 is closing the gap all the time (never mind that the service is free)

Of course, I don't give a rats ass about online play, as it's usually overrun by trolls (particularly on the 360) and can't possibly compete with sitting next to the person who's ass your kicking.

Give this man a woman to have his way with!  Online play offers nothing to me and is fecies compared to chocolate to being in the same room with the people you're playing with.  It's call INTERACTION, and you don't get it online.  So with the focus being online bull##### with FPS and Sport games and the single worst hardware ever, I will not ever own a 360.  A PS3?  Someday, maybe.  Once the price hits the magic $250 mark.  And by then, it might have about 10 or so core games to warrent the purchase.

As for the FF13 issue, it isn't one.  First, FF has been a hollow shell of it's former self since 8, and 7 wasn't really even that great.  It sells on name alone anymore.  Second, if anyone thinks any significant number of people are going to shift sales wise based on this, they're a troll or fanboy or both.  People who own a 360 will be able to play a port of a #####ty PS3 game, thats it.  People who already have a PS3 aren't going to sell thier consoles like lemmings going over a cliff to get a 360 just to play FF13.

Also, enjoy now having to wait another year for this game, since Square said they're going to release both console versions at the same time, and they haven't even STARTED the 360 port yet.  If PS3 owners got screwed in any way over this, it's that they have to wait even LONGER now for it to come out.  But that's it.

Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying the ##### out of my DS, the last bastion of REAL gaming.

Zero is the best man. He fights to the bitter end, and without him there would have been no maverik virus, no evil sigma, and no X series to play. Zero was designed to be the next mega man before X aswell. But they just made X up because Zero looked to different.

2612  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Who was the better DR? on: 18 July 2008, 16:27:48
Duh.

Light's a genius, no doubt, but Wily being a close #2 proves he's no slouch.  So his stuff keeps getting beat by Mega Man, so what?  Mega Man beats EVERYONE.  Wily's the only one with enough balls AND brains to keep comming back and pushing Mega Man to his limit each time.

And frankly, in building Zero, I think he trumped Light in the end.  Yeah, Light had X, but personally, in the end, if push came to shove, I think Zero has just as good a chance of taking out X as X does Zero.  Though I think Zero's killing instinct would eventually bring him out the victor.

And thus Wily tops Light.

And he has a bitch'n Castle.
2613  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Proof of Megaman 9? on: 18 July 2008, 16:22:02
We KNOW what happens, we don't need a bridge game.  Light builds X.  Light seals X.  Cain digs up X.  Cain destroys the world.

People don't want a game to connect the series, they just want to know why none of the classic robots are in X.  You don't need a game for that.  And frankly, we don't need to know any of it to make the X series plot (before the intirape) make sense.

Let the hackjob fanfic idiots circle jerk to thier "ZERO KILLS EVERYONE!!!" #####.  I'll be enjoying Classic Mega Man and replaying X1-X4.

I think I just died a little inside.

1UP: I'm excited that the game is being created by IntiCreates, who made the Zero and ZX games. Those were actually very challenging games -- much harder than the classic games in my opinion -- but they really get what makes Mega Man good. Are they bringing some of the design concepts and innovations of the Zero and ZX games into MM9 to make it more contemporary and challenging?

That's the kind of cancer that game companies are pandering to.  That person knows nothing of good game design.  It's only slightly better than the types bitching becasue MM9 is 8bit.

Ducking in ZX was more of a chore, since you have to switch to human form to do it.

You just described the ZX series in one sentence.  CONGRATS!

From what I'v heard about the game, MM9 should bridge the gap between classic megaman and the Xseries. Personally I really wanna know why Zero and X where locked away, what happens to the classic blue bomber etc.

I want to ban it.

You could consider it so if your goal was to equal 2.
2621  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 14 July 2008, 14:52:48
I agree, none of it looks BAD, but for all the positioning of "We're going to make it better than MM2" it looks like they're hitting solid MM4/5 ground instead.
2622  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 11 July 2008, 23:08:54
Which is TOTALLY related to Mega Man, and what's considered an "element" in general.

The trailer leads me to believe this might JUST not be #####.  Could even rival 4 and 5, though proclaiming it to match or even approach 2 is still absolutely absurd and laughable in the extreme (based on the Robot Masters and what I've heard of the music).

Those come from RPM?
2624  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 9 July 2008, 18:59:38
Right, for the most part, having multiple playable characters doesn't work well, especially when they're thrown in as "extras".  Good stage design requires you build the game around how your character controls.  Making them play differently to the extent they're not just a color swapped Mega Man would mean the stages wouldn't play very well.  Look at Powered Up.  Half the Robot Masters were an exercise in frustration because the levels were made for Mega Man and they were just thrown in.

And new levels are for sequels.  If it's good enough to put in, PUT IT IN THE #####ING GAME FROM THE GET GO and let me unlock it, not #####ing buy it later.  DC is the biggest bull##### rip off ever thought up.

Good Possibility: an optional “Graphic/Sound Update” for anyone that doesn’t want to play it in 8-bit. I probably wouldn’t use it at first, but it might be a nice thing to try on a replay, especially if they use Inticreates’ “Megaman Zero” -style of drawing for it.

Bad Possibility: Charge-shot and Sliding are made downloadable. Not necessary to beat the game, but you can use it to reach certain secret areas.

Jesus Christ, there are times I'd sell my soul to be able to reach through the internet and smash in someone's skull with a brick, and that was one of them.

Suddenly I'm afraid for Legends 3...
1.why

Why? Because we know Capcom would try making connections to ZX with it and horribly ruin everything that was great about the game by trying to connect it with the other series.

Just like X got bent into following some ##### MMZ based ultimate future and contributed to ruining what was one of video games best series.  So too shall it be with Legends.
2632  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 4 July 2008, 17:40:15
HA HA!  FINALLY we get MM1 and MM2 on VC over here.  Now if they release MM3 I'll be happy.  4 would be great, and 5 and 6 nice, but I can live with 1-3 if that's all they do.

And I can't see them REMOVING the charge shot and slide only to make it EXTRA downloadable ##### for money.  If anything it's just going to be an upgrade you can buy or unlock.  And hell, in game maybe Mega Man has been damaged so Light needs to rebuild those features for Mega Man.  Though honestly, the charge shot just killed any real need to use Robot Master weapons because of how much damage it did and I'd be happy if they just took it out.

Why do you think no one HAS yet?
2635  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Most hated Series on MMM on: 2 July 2008, 20:12:19
Mega Man Zero hands down.  ZX is just MMZ5, but with #####tier gameplay.  If MMZ wasn't responsible for raping and destroying X's continuity and tieing Legends into said ##### fest as well as having poor gameplay and terrible level design I'd have said ZX, since it's gameplay is even WORSE.

Battle Network was a good series at one point, and you can still play 1-3 and end it there and the games FEEL finished.  The fact 3 more crimes against Mega Man were made in BN doesn't discount it was good at one point, which NONE of the other 3 series can claim.

Starforce can be summed up in this equation: BN4-6 + NT * SUPER AIDS^10 = Star Force.  It's major suck, but not as bad as MMZ, because MMX was still more or less FANTASTIC when it came out (X1-X4 were top notch with a dissappointing X5), where as BN was AIDS City when Star Force burst out of it's chest and continued to decompose even more.

2637  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 2 July 2008, 00:27:02
X5 was a bullet to the head of Mega Man X.  Inafune and Capcom killed it ages ago.
2638  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 1 July 2008, 21:57:06
I agree with Mikero.  If they make X9, it will have Fagxl.  And while I still think X1 is the best game in the series hands down, I do agree X4 had the best game play and controls.

X8 wasn't awful from the basic run, jump shoot side, but everything else about it was significantly lacking from the early games.  I want a full 2D X game.  Frankly, doing a 2D game in 3D has always been a ridiculous idea.  3D visuals have never done justice to good sprite work (or even mediocre sprite work) for the most part and if the gameplay IS 2D, why the ##### does it need to be rendered in 3D?  Because the dip#####s of this generation can't play a game if it doesn't require a $5000 graphics card to render 3D graphics on it.

Inafune talks about going "back to basics" on MegaMan 9, well the X series DESPERATELY needs to do this.  They need to get rid of Axl, focus on X and Zero, solid action based platforming and a minimalist plot to tie the game togher that DOESN'T have to #####ing fit into some badly scripted grandiose timeline.

Of course this guarantees it will NEVER happen.

UPDATE

MM9 is WiiWare exclusive! The information stating it was for PSN and XBLA was a mistake.

If it's any... CONSOLEation, I doubt 360ers or PS3ers would even care about a possible gem like MM9 because of the direction they went with it.  Outright dismissed upon sight.  And that's why our hobby is dying.
2641  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 1 July 2008, 00:12:54
This level of drama wouldn't be happening if not for that stunt.  Or at the VERY least limited to "oh nos it's 8 bit butt hurt frownine face" crap.

Eh, you know if BBD didn't do it at RPM, he would've did it at MMN or some other half-ass site anyway. *shrugs* And some dupe would've believed it, so the drama would've ensued with someone else as the person everyone points fingers at. But it's all rather pointless in the end anyway.

I have my issues with MMN, sure, but if you expect me to believe they'd have bought that crap and run with it like Inafune himself stopped by dressed as Mega Man to tell them you're kidding yourself.

It's not "just a few idiots" it's a good majority of the site, and that behaviour is encouraged and accepted.

The fact you people not only still don't seem to understand why people are legitimately angry about it but also still don't think it's a big deal says more than anything anyone there tries to say to defend themselves.

DJ might as well change the name of the site to "Lasagna Sculptures in Sudan Webpage" because that would make it more relevant to the Mega Man community than a good chunk of us now hold it, and he has only himself to blame.

Yes, a responsibility to keep free thought under control, no matter if it's valid or not.

Nice thought there, Rez. I expect better of you.

Lunchebox touched on most of what I was going to say concerning the free thought BS.  But I'll sum it up by saying DJ has a responsibility to keep his site, staff and community from spreading blatantly false and malicious rumors/pranks as real news, and that has absolutely NOTHING to do with censoring free thought ala "I think Mega Man 4 was a great game" BAN or "The music in Legends had a much lighter feel than in Zero, don't you think?" BAN.

Everything I said still stands, and not you, nor anyone at that site can defend it, and frankly shouldn't be.  You speak of expectations?  Well I have some of my own concerning my friends and colleagues in the community as to how they behave and work in said community and RPM and it's staff have certainly DEEPLY dissappointed me in that regard.

And that's all I have to say on the matter.  Though I have no doubt anyone there gives a damn what my opinion of them is.
2646  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 30 June 2008, 06:03:06
Stop being a raving lunatic, Rez. First of all, the majority of RPM's views do not go hand-in-hand with that idiot, Zechs/Ovan/Whatever. There are just a handful of morons that bite at what he says, unfortunately.

*shrugs* With that said, believe whatever mad stories you want... just stop making yourselves look retarded, please.

It's depressing.

To be fair, I didn't see him post anything like that.

This should be noted.

His board, his responsibility to keep that ##### from happening.  He does not nor has he ever done that.

Ok, now that makes me utterly SICK.  That site of trolls have the gual to accuse MMN of doing the same immature garbage they do?  I've got my gripes with MMN on some things, but one thing I will say is that they're credible.  They don't make things up, set out to spread false information or flat out lie about things.  And to do so in the face of the Mega Man 9 information being confirmed by major reputable game sites as well as NP and Capcom itself show what a cesspool of garbage they are.

That's right, I'm not being nice about my feelings on this at all.  I have lost all respect for DJ.
