And the spliting of power ups was bull##### too.  You couldn't max any one character.
2452  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 6 October 2008, 03:33:34
I'll be getting the new levels.  Maybe Protoman eventually.  If I have extra points the other #####, just to complete it.
2453  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 4 October 2008, 20:15:44
X1 sound.  X1 was miles better than 2 or 3.  Though I liked 2 a LOT better than 3.

4 armor capsules, 8 heart tanks, 4 E-tanks, and a special capsule which allows X to do the Sonic Boom and Zero to do the Hurricane Kick.

You mean 4 sub tanks?  I'd also add 1 W tank.  And I'd go the X4 route with picking X OR Zero, not alternating.
2454  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 4 October 2008, 16:28:04
Nova Man is confused.

Nibbles is NEVER happy though.
2456  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Mega Man X9 question. on: 3 October 2008, 22:35:32
I still prefer X1-3 X for gameplay, but Zero never played as well before and probably never will play as well as again as he did in X4.  His move set was absolutely perfect.  It would be nice to see 16bit Zero play like his 32 bit X4 version.
2457  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Axl on: 3 October 2008, 22:32:25
He was meant to be a main character, and he had no place in gameplay or plot to be one.  As I said, doesn't matter how/when he was brought in to fill that role.  It's like adding 3rd leg to someone's body to make them move better, but it just gets in the way and doesn't work at all.
2458  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 3 October 2008, 22:29:50
Yeah, that's definately crazy #####...  more fun to watch than do in my opinion.

FF4DS, MM9, Punch-Out Wii?  Jesus, it's like good games started to come out again... I REMEMBER THAT I USED TO LOVE VIDEO GAMES AND THIS IS WHY!
2460  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 3 October 2008, 15:15:31
Hornet Man's remix was kinda meh, but Galaxy Man's sounded good.  Haven't heart these yet, but I didn't care for either of the 2 Classic remix albums they released.  I WILL be getting this cd for the new Mega Mix comic though.  Ariga's art = best ever (save for one or two characters).

OH MY #####ING GOD!  Thank you Nintendo.  If that's how the entire game is going to be, then this is the PERFECT next gen remake/sequal to Punch-Out!  Gameplay looks spot on with none of the Super Punch-Out garbage.  Now if it's 3 rounds, has Doc telling you to join the Nintendo Fan Club today and boss training montoges, this could be the single best Wii game EVER...

Though we still need Bald Bull, Piston Honda and Don Flamingo.
2463  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Upcoming Games Topic on: 2 October 2008, 18:22:06
PUNCHOUT WII OMG YES!  Looks like it's taking a que from the NES game too, not that piece of ##### SNES sequal.

Also... TRACE MEMORY WII?!?!@DLKF AOEIJF A;DLKJFAO EIJF EI ##### YEA!!!!

And the new DSi is pimp.  Can't wait to see the mp3 players they write for it to take advantage of that built in SD card slot.  Oh man... good #####.

That would be down right Shakespearian compared to Axl's character.

2468  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Axl on: 1 October 2008, 22:13:37
I think that Axl could have been a good character, but he was introduced at the wrong time- and in the wrong way.

No.  He's a bad character, and it wouldn't have mattered when or how he was brought in.  He serves no purpose either gameplay wise or plot wise.  He does not play significantly different from X to justify adding him and he completely destroys the partnership/duo vibe X and Zero have by being a tagged on 3rd wheel.
2469  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 1 October 2008, 20:35:48
Again, ##### YOU CAPCOM.

The thing that pisses me off the most isn't that there are only 200.  I would be displeased, but at least other fans have them.  What pisses me right off is that most of them are inevitably going to be snapped up from the site by jackals just to resell on ebay for exorbitant prices keeping even MORE fans away from it.
2470  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Axl on: 1 October 2008, 13:50:32
Classic, X1-X4 happen.  1 timeline.  Take out Axl, and Command Mission happened (more or less).  Legends happened, different universe, Battle Network 1-3 happened, different universe.

The rest is garbage and isn't fit for an alternate universe.

Regardless of canon, that's how I view things.  Anyone who chooses to disagree is allowed to be wrong.  I won't even dignify Axl's existance with why he's a terrible character from both a narritive point and gameplay point.
What about X5

Trouble reading the post you quoted?

The plot spreads out into different alternate realities is what they're saying. Because of all the plotholes saying X8 happened and Zero series happened.

X5 is where it all went downhill.

Thats what they're saying, I have my beliefs.

No, I was saying which games I think are ##### and which aren't.  That I choose lop the bad ##### into an alternate timeline/reality is my choice (and the choice of any fan with taste).

Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir

I'm enjoying the game fairly well surprisingly.  It's just so silly.  The gameplay is all pretty much puzzles and where's waldo type scavenger hunts, but the zany artstyle and randomized clue like plot are keeping me playing.  Also, for only $19.99, not a bad price.
2474  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: When did the news thread division dissapear? on: 30 September 2008, 20:58:19

Bastards getting access early...  I wonder if there's a one per transaction limit.  If not there SHOULD be to keep #####ing scalpers from just buying several to put on ebay.

Looks like I'll have to keep checking the store 10x a day to watch.
2476  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 29 September 2008, 17:35:59
I've decided the optimal path is

Galaxy Man > Jewel Man > Plug Man > Tornado Man > Magma Man > Hornet Man > Splash Woman > Concrete Man

The only thing that path doesn't nab you is the Rush Jet for Tornado Man's stage, but having the Jewel Satelite seems far more valuable overall to get early.

Resident Evil looked "fine" on DS.  It can handle PS1 games well enough minues L2/R2 buttons.  Anyway, I'd prefer it on DS if they ported them just because the DS is the superior gaming machine.
2480  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 26 September 2008, 17:41:19
Well, that #####s over people who try to hit the leader boards honestly.  Glitch exploits are one thing, but there's no way to tell if they did or not.  Capcoms going to need to address/fix this if the leader boards are going to mean anything.
2481  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 26 September 2008, 17:31:48
Galaxy Fantasy was pretty sweet, but I didn't care for Hornet Dance as much.  Hope the rest of the remixes are mostly remixed and not a lot of f'ing bloat with the occassional recognizable melody thrown in to remind you it's a "remix" of the song you like.
2482  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: GameFaq's Annual Character Battle on: 26 September 2008, 15:07:44
The way they arrange the brackets guarentee no one other than Cloud and Link ever win.  Really, the brackets should have all the Mario folks in one to pick one from, all FF in one bracket, etc, etc, with the smaller characters in their own brackets.  Then at least you don't have Cloud, Seperoth, Link, Mario auto eliminating everyone else in whatever bracket they're in.
2483  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 26 September 2008, 15:05:19
And really, backwards jumping and shooting isn't THAT bad. You can't even like, argue that.

I wouldn't call it an argument, because it's a FACT backwards controls are bad.  You don't get used to it, ever.  It can only ever JUST feel not akward enough to let you cripple your way though the game.

PS3 and 360 ports confirmed to use BN Mega Man and Tornado Man and Splash Woman replaced by Harpuia and Leviathian.  Also, items from shop have been removed in favor of DLC power ups that you can reuse a certain number of times before you need to buy them agian.  360 version also features multiplayer voice chat that allows for other players to control stage enemies, but the catch is the game isn't playable offline because of this.

I highly highly HIGHLY doubt Capcom's dumb enough to make an X9 a virtual copy of X7.

Hi, you must be new here.

There's a pretty big gap in quality between the two. X8 is less #####ty, but still a poor game.

Fixed that for you.  X8 is worse than any of the 2D games.  even X5 and X6.  Compared to X7, yeah, it looks better, but Jesus, what doesn't?
2492  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 24 September 2008, 00:15:26
Aparently Concrete Shot will solidify the beams.  Or you can do it the hard way and use the Rush Coil and Rush Jet.

Why does anyone to any other MM site, anyway?

To ghet the latest info on and chat about teh awesoxme MEGAMANZERO/ZX/STARFORCE series! lolololol!

...and that's why (among other reasons) I steer clear of other MM sites.  Mind you apart from Mega Man Network, there really AREN'T any other Mega Man sites to speak of.

The trick to the eggs is to shoot them on the ground.  It pops them back up in an arc that will hit the mouth easily.  Also, just doge them when he's closer, it's too tricky to try to bounce them then because you have so little room to dodge.

This works 100% of the time. Thanks, Rez.
I finally beat the game.

That's why I'm so popular with the ladies!

Mega Man 9 in 1 day has sold 60 000!
From Protodude's Rock Man corner

This is simply amazing:

"Using Wii Shop Channel rankings from the top American Wii markets -- US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia -- along with historical sales data calculated from Nintendo Channel usage data, we can exclusively reveal to you today the sales for the first day for the hottest WiiWare title to date:

Day 1 sales for the Americas:

Mega Man 9 (WiiWare, Capcom, 1,000 points): 60,000

Yes, that's right. In one day Mega Man 9 outsold all but six WiiWare titles' lifetime totals. In one day it outsold Strong Bad Episode's 1 lifetime sales from over a month. For the full week it could surpass the lifetime sales of every WiiWare title -- and most Virtual Console titles, as well.

Needless to say, this is a pretty successful debut. We'll bring you full week sales next week, look out for the first-day sales of the XBLA version when it launches next Wednesday.

The other titles released were Plattchen Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare, Bplus, 1,000 points), Super Dodge Ball (NES, Aksys Games, 500 points), and Vectorman (Sega Genesis, Sega, 800 points), and none of them had enough first-day sales to crack the top 20 (less than 1,000, probably far less)."

Looks like the game is a success. One has to wonder how much this number will change at the end of the week...

60,000 purchases @ $10 a pop = $600,000 in one day.  Not too shabby.  I don't know how much Capcom put into making the game, but that's got to put a serious dent into any costs they incured.  And that's just day 1.  I'm excited to see what kind of sales it does on XBL and PSN.  Just goes to show people WILL buy a REAL Mega Man game.
