I don't see it. She was actually interesting looking on the previous design. Compare the two.
I think you'd do well to compare the two. The changes are all so minuscule it's rage inducing. It's the exact same character. To say that the laughably lazy tweeks they did to "Legendize" her change her in any minor, let alone major way is so off base it's silly. And that pic with all 3 of them just illustrates how much that design just doesn't fit into Legends. <edit> and to clarify, the before after makes no difference as she looks the exact same. The winning design does not fit Legends style at all. God only knows what kind of Bonne mech we'll get out of this.

I liked the old design a lot more. Her hair was a lot longer, better detail, better eyes, and I HATE how that scarf now is covering her chin. Other than that, everything else is alright I guess.
Besides the "Star Force" vibe I get from this character now. That's plain stupid.
They took a good design and ran it into the dirt. For me, that's strike one for Legends 3.
Are you blind or stupid? She looked Star Forcey from the get go. The sum total of her being "Legendified" was absolutely NOTHING. The design is for all intents and purposes the same and it's still just as bad as it was when it won. Why is her belt unbuckled?
Easy sex.

It's almost like they did nothing at all nothing at all nothing at all...
Seriously, they didn't do jack of ##### to that design. I was expecting them to just start with it and actually work on it to make it look like it came out of Legends, not Star Force. This is just a kick to the #####ing balls. With fans selecting ##### this stupid, it won't be long before we get cameos by Bass and Zero because HERP DERP WE WANT IT LOL.

Not as bad as I expected. MMM has grown somewhat in my absence. I'm honestly happy for that, as condescending as that is gonna sound. I am.
While I'll still disagree, I do agree with one thing. Megaman as a whole is dying in various kinds of ways. And not the "end series instantly" kind of way, but the kind of way the Brotherhood of Steel is dying... or MMM for that matter. And other such places that are far past their prime. Decay. The worst kind of death really, since it is pitiful to watch. But maybe we'll get lucky. Maybe we'll even just get to go out with a bang.
Maybe Legends 3 won't suck.
That is a lot of maybes though... and I don't like the odds. I'm just glad Megaman isn't the only game series I give a ##### about.
Oh, I COULD have given a very nasty play by play, but really, opinions and what not. I honestly just don't care anymore for the most part. Mega Man isn't the ONLY series I like, but damn near ll of them have had more or less the same thing happen to them, ironically enough many of them being Capcom frachises. Remember when Resident Evil was a survival horror series where you had limited resources and ammo (and even saves). Remember when Breath of Fire wasn't non existant (5 sucked so damn bad it literally murdered the series, not that the higher ups were rooting for it to continue anyway). Remember when Phoenix Wright was a lawyer and not a bum? Pepperidge Farms does. But that's about it. I've not got to play the Castlevania reboot, but it looks like it might be ok, if not anything like the kind of Castlevania I prefer (which is different from the just #####ty 3D games on N64 and PS2), though the 2D games have all still been pretty top tier. That's a series I still actually love. But it's one of the few. You mean even if 10's were weak. I never played 10 because it just looked like more 9, only worse and with no good music.
I'm cool with retro stuff, I really am. Love it. But you can't just keep handing that off as a rewarding experience in an age and industry where advancement is expected.
11's music was solid. And advancement for the sake of advancement is bad. 2D platforming is fine, it works and if it's done right damn fun. There's nothing to "advance" to that. Do you have to do it in 8bit? Not necessarily, but look how loosey goosey MM8 was compared to the super crisp and precise movement of the 8bit stuff. If you can't replicate that level of response and control, it doesn't do any good to do super high def graphics.

Ironically, Rez originally said that he expected Mega Man 9 to be terrible
Given Inti's record with Zero/ZX I think expecting ##### was reasonable. I was happily surprised it was MM4-5 level good. As good as 2 or 3? No. But 4 & 5 were still pretty good games. At this point I would expect MM11 to be good if they announced it, even if 11's weapons were rather weak. I loved the rest of the game.

I'm old and really can't be bothered to bitch at EVERYTHING anymore. I quite honestly can't see how anyone can like Axl at all in any respect. I just chalk it up to some kind of learning disability.
As for the games, I happen to have generally really liked Command Mission, despite it having Axl and despite the game looking like it would be the second coming of awful from all the preview material for it. I am very rarely so pleasantly surprised by modern X games. X1-X4 were all masterpieces. X5 and up were various levels of bad. X5 being an "intended" game or not does not fix it being a significant step down in overall quality from the first 4.
I'm not a big fan of Mega Man 6 and I thought 8 was and MM&Bass were bad. I love the first 3 Battle Networks even if 3 started to nerf some stuff. The last 3 are awful. Starforce is everything that was wrong with BN made into a new series. I despise Mega Man Zero and ZX with a burning hate that can not be described with words. Legends is #####ing awesome and I hope Zero/ZX does not taint 3.
To say we hate "everything after X5" is pretty inaccurate. We just have some expectations that when something starts out #####ing awesome, it should maintain some level of quality. In a series as long lived as Mega Man and with as many offshoots as it has, it's to be expected you will run into a bad game here and there. The formula can get tired and the best ideas used. I think what really hurts are half assed attempts to "modernize" things by going 3D or adding gimmicks out the ass to "freshen" it up to the point it just breaks what made it work in the first place, and that's the major problem almost all the "hate" games have.
Inafune leaving will have... ZERO impact on that. I'm not expecting any more or less problems with what's coming out because of it. I EXPECT Legends 3 will be awful and the biggest let down since Xenosage part 2, but I HOPE it will be the sequel the series #####ing deserves. I'm not holding my breath though.

Add Zero, ZX and BN 4-6 to that list of mistakes.
I can honestly say I don't really care about the news. We'll still get (bad?) Mega Man games just like we have since Inafune started to be less involved. Life moves on. It is a bit ironic and sad perhaps that he is leaving just as he got Legends 3 approved. I really can't say if that's good or bad for the game itself.

Right I get that you hate Axl,
... I don't think you do. but take me seriously for a sec.
Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha! No. Command Mission was an entirely different kind of game altogether, and it DIDN'T focus on Axl. He was just a guy in it, and he was actually useful in a party.
Axl had NO place in Command Mission. He wasn't assigned to the mission, wasn't involved at all in any way. He just HAPPENED to show up at the same super secret base/island X and Zero had been sent to and walked in like a cocky little mother #####er just like the #####ing mary sue he is. I never used him past any section I had to as I found him to offer nothing of value the other characters didn't have a better answer to. The best thing about him was they gave him Spider's super mode power and that wasn't even HIS. Totally worthless character in every single way. If Massimo was the main character of X7, I feel like we'd be making fun of Massimo instead because all the voice actors in X7 were ridiculous. It's not Axl's fault that X7 sucks, the game merely "justifies" his bad rep because it was his debut.
Ok, seriously now. Axl wasn't the only reason X7 sucked. You could have debuted Zero in it and the game would have been all kinds of ass. But Zero isn't as #####ty character. Even Massimo isn't really a #####ty character. Axl is. And the fact he's such an awful AWFUL character only made X7 WORSE. The fact on top of making him such a god awful character they shoe horned him in as the main is what REALLY burns most peoples asses. Axl didn't get a bad rap because he debuted in a #####ty game, he got a bad rap because he was an exceptionally #####ty character who debuted in an exceptionally #####ty game. Not to mention he also just doesn't belong in the gameplay of the main X games, nor would ANY character besides X and Zero (Vile not counting as a separate party) which is why I said only Command Mission is an exception.
Axl doesn't offer anything gameplay wise really, I agree. I feel like if Chris Nolan made a movie about Axl, it would be an awesome-ass movie.
I think you need to stop drinking bleach.

"nothing but"? It has a fair number of original games too if I recall the list, though a good chunk of the most notable stuff are some of the remakes. I don't think there were any ports per sey that weren't out and out remakes like Zelda or Star Fox.

Aside from the fact that 2 of the stages were gimmicky junk, it was enjoyable to play.
ONLY 2? Sorry, try again. Almost EVERY stage was a #####ing gimmick. Teleport Maze stage? Mini Game Cyber Space Stage? Get chased by Giant Robot Stage? LOL Stealth Stage? X8 had the worst stage design in the series outside of X7's 3D mess. Compare X8 stages to comprable ones in other games. Optic Sunflower vs Cyber Peacock. Peacock's stage was still a quick and enjoyable action romp through each section. Sunflower had tedius stop and clear the room for 2 minute mini games that just killed any sense of progression. Infinity Mijwhateverthe#####hewas vs Earthshock Trilobyte. Sure, Infinity's stage was annoying, but it was stright forward mostly action. Trilobyte is back and foreth stop and go bull #####. It goes on and on but you get the point I'm trying to make. While a lot of what X8 did had been done before, the fact X8 did it so POORLY contributed to the awful stage desgin and execution.

Castlevania in general has the single best music of any series. Having amazing music is as much a part of it as Dracula.
Also, I've recently finished a rip of Lunar Silver Star Story complete if anyone is interested.

It depends. If you're just straight up comparing X8 to X7, then good lord, yes it's better. Though you have to quantify that by saying just because it's better than X7 doesn't mean it was a good game. It has a whole host of issues that are just as bad as some of X7's sins and I can say that even with X5 and X6's issues, both were MUCH better games than X8.

Do we really need a NEW heroin? Tron and Roll are plenty. Also, I really don't see the need for this, unless it's going toward some god awful multi player stuff. I know that was mentioned somewhere as a possibility.
That being said I think Ryuji Higurashi and Sensei Haruki Suetsugu have the best designs. Toru Nakayama and his MMZ/ZX style can go out and ##### off. Considering how much Inafune loves Legends, it's kind of sad his entry really doesn't look Legendy at all.

I'm to understand this guy won't be doing the art every issue. Though if they can keep it at that level/quality it would go a long way to helping. Based on what I know about Archie and comic book adaptations ::cough::Sonic::cough:: I don't have a lot of faith it's not going to suck. I guess if it doesn't and the art is good it's just a bonus. I mean, it can't be worse than the Dreamwave garbage, right? Right?
In the end it's a moot point though. I judge all Mega Man comics by Mega Mix, so it's got an impossibly high bar to go for.
