Pharaoh Man's theme is #####ing epic! Cossack Stage 1 is high tier, Wily Capsule is god tier. 4 has solid music. I actually find 6's to be the weakest of the NES game's music myself, and also unusually, actually prefer the Complete Works remixes for 6.

Picked up Giana Sisters DS. It's not what I was expecting. Soooo easy, but kind of fun. Not awful, but I think the original one was a lot harder. Now I just need to find a copy of Secret Files 2 on DS and I'm about done with that Platform (at about 110 games for it).

I bought the MMZ Collection because of the amazing audio improvements from GBA to DS and for no other reason. And I don't even LIKE most of the music in the Zero series! HA!
Why can't Nintendo do this for Metroid Zero Mission? I'd love a proper audio update for that one!

I remember my first post here made Rez hate me because I used a Dr. Wily emoticon mid sentence and it made me look bad.
And he hated my theory, which was bad.
And I feel feel bad about it.
You're bad and you should feel bad. Remember Nall, SDJ, and Team Terror? That was some funny ass #####.
Delta and Hazard thought I WAS Nall when I joined. Good times. I still miss the Mega Man Avatars though. I was Grenade Man!

Well, the 999 Sequel is indeed the first excellent news for the 3DS since we STILL have no confirmation of Ace Attorney vs Professor Layton and Legends 3 was canceled. I was pretty worried for a while there.

I'm trying very hard to finish Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights, but my god it's difficult to keep slogging though it. I've gotten pretty fed up with the game. I like the art, the voice acting, the setting and characters, but the gameplay itself is terrible in so many places.
But I'm going to finish it before I start up Resident Evil Revelations and the inevitable disappointment it will bring.

I got 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors for the DS for Christmas, and basically did absolutely nothing but play that game for three days straight starting on Christmas Day, beat it multiple times, got all of the endings + the final ending. Been a while since I got quite so absorbed by a game like that!
Good stuff huh? One of the best DS games hands down! I loved it. The squeal for it is coming out on both Vita and 3DS, but sadly Aksys has announced they have no current plans to localize it. I had an even bigger aneurism than when I found out we'd never get Ace Attorney Investigations 2.

Graphics look like flash, not real impressed, and playing an action game on a touch screen is unplayable. It makes a keyboard setup like a controller in comparison. If it gets new remixes I might be interested in that, providing they're better than the MHX fare.

Playing Super Mario 3D Land. I like it quite a bit. It's definitely a mix between 3 and 64, but works. The game is pretty easy so far, but I've heard it picks up after world 8. The levels are short and sweet and have a few tricky areas, though the movement in a 3D space is STILL causing unnecessary deaths (as they always have since platformers went from 2D to 3D). I'm digging it.
Also playing Skyward Sword. I think it's probably the best 3D Zelda, but it still has a TON of little issues that bug me. I don't have any major problems with it though, it's literally just a lot of little ones, but they all add up to detract from what could have been pure magic. I'm in the desert facility right now and about 24 hours of game time under my belt so I think I can safely say I've seen what the game has to offer.
Not a bad effort for the end of the year from Nintendo. Now if we could just get a non FPS or battered woman fantasy Metroid game and a new rail shooter Starfox and F-Zero and we'd be set.

Obvious spam bot. Banned the account anyway and removed the urls. Not that anyone here is dumb enough to click them, RIGHT? We should probably delete the whole thread though. Spam threads really make the place look bad.

Super Mario THREE DEE LAND Wa Haaaaa!!!
Loving it so far. The levels are short and sweet and a blast to play. My only gripe is the usual 3D fare for platforming of it just being hard here and there to figure out where you are or need to jump.

Aliens Infestation for DS. It's not quite the Metroid style adventure I'd read it was, but its not bad, and it's hard. You can't just shoot and win. Controls aren't quite what I'd like them to be (specifically not being able to pause to change weapons) but it's still quite playable. One thing I don't like is the fact you don't have lives persey so much as each team member is kind of like your supply of 1ups. If you die, another squad member takes over where you dropped dead. You can "recruit" more marines to fill up you team of 4 but unless you die and lose one, they don't actually join you. I would have liked to have seen you be able to collect them all and swap your party out. Also on that note, all the marines play exactly the same and have the same skills and weapons. It would have been really cool to have some have more health, move faster, be able to use certain weapons etc etc. I think it would have added a TON of depth.
But all that aside, I think I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Aliens or a good Metroidish type game.

MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: So whats going to happen to the X Series?
|

X doesn't need MORE plot, if anything it needs LESS. The designs look just fine, just like Classic. Really, this isn't rocket science. We don't need to reinvent the wheel (gator).
The formula for Mega Man is good. It doesn't need to be revamped because it WORKS. If you feel it's stale then you obviously don't enjoy it like you used to and it's time to move on. However, changing something so much that it becomes something different than what it became popular as defeats the purpose. If that's what it takes to "save" something it's already dead and should just be dropped.
