I always tell people it's the single best-written cartoon out there. My favorite thing about it is how it's heavily grounded in realism, and yet it's also very obviously not. There's subtle stuff like characters having several different outfits and not always wearing the same clothes (and in the beginning they poked fun at Dean and Hank for their samey clothes).
Realism is the wrong word - they've created their own laws and rules and adhere to them strictly, and it makes it feel like you have a lot more invested in these characters.
Last night's episode was fantastic as always. This is a very very very strong season so far.
Sunday Round-up so far: Mad Men: They dealt with the Kennedy Assassination, so of COURSE this is one of the show's best episodes. This a great end-of-season run, the show's at a peak right now. Venture Bros.: See above. Curb Your Enthusiasm: I loved this episode. Tons of genuinely great dialogue as opposed to the characters being forced into silly situations, even though the episode WAS silly, which was fine. Californication: Watching in a few minutes. Dexter: Downloading.

Oh, yeah, I could definitely watch Larry and Jerry banter for hours. Wednesday/Thursday Roundup:Modern Family: More of the same, which is good because that means it's still funny. Community: Hilarious episode. They did a surprisingly good job mocking The Dark Knight, something that isn't easy to do without coming off as forced. Parks and Recreation: More Louis CK, which means another funny episode. The Office: Meh. The cold open with Craig Robinson trying to guess everyone's episodes was absolutely effin' hilarious, but the episode itself was very meh. 30 Rock: I'm glad I'm finally really watching this show, because it really is very funny. Always Sunny: HA, oh god. So many great parts. Not as good as the previous two episodes but still really really funny. Posted on: 31 October 2009, 02:39:06

Oh my GOD I had some serious fun tonight! I've gotten so used to awful parties with a handful of friends and nobody interesting to talk to... so tonight was great. I either knew everybody there (and a lot were people I hadn't seen in a while) or they were people I was genuinely happy to meet.
I haven't had this much fun in a while, I goddamn love Halloween.

This was in my Facebook inbox when I woke up:
"Hey Alec. I am sorry about last night. I didn't mean to try to choke you. I wasn't thinking straight. I didn't mean to try to hurt you. I hope you are okay. I am really sorry. I hope that you are okay and that you can forgive me. And laurie told me that you guys were making me do math problems. thats not very nice. but funny. now that I think about it."

One of my roommates is going as Mafia Luigi and his friend is going as Mafia Mario. They've got actual suits with a red/black and green/black color scheme going on, and bowler hats with the letters L and M on them. It's actually pretty creative, I think. And I guess one of my other roommates decided to jump in as Mafia Peach, but I haven't seen it yet.
In other news, Green Man is definitely the popular costume at every party. Hopped between a few tonight and got unanimous praise for it. Plus it's also really fun to wear - unfortunately it's really hard to see through it in the dark so I had the face-part off for most of the time.
Here's one picture from early on in the night:

The point is, you're in denial, or avoiding to announce who you are. A Mega Man fan, or by your definition, a loser.
Wait, hey, no. I definitely said I wasn't serious. And if anyone is comfortable with exactly who they are, it's me. I probably wouldn't go with loser unless I was in a self-deprecative mood (and I'm not), but I'm definitely something.##### yeah I own a MegaMan 9 Press Kit, and I proudly have some action figures displayed on my desk alongside Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide. ##### yeah I own two black MegaMan T-shirts that I'll never ever wear and one green one that I wear quite frequently. ##### yeah I own MegaMan 2 and 3 even though I don't have an NES to play them on. ##### yeah I make love to IronMan dolls. I even cut little holes in them.

I wasn't serious about the loser thing in terms of having nothing about MegaMan on a Facebook profile.
As for the Green Man stuff, it's not "sorta" awesome. It's "totally", "extremely", "definitely", "very", "so", and "amazingly" awesome. I was walking down that aisle in style.

Oh, right, I just remembered there's probably nothing about MegaMan on my Facebook profile because I'm not a loser.
To prove (or disprove) that statement, I shall recount some amazing events that recently occurred:
"Alright, we'll call your name and you come to the front of the [huge/packed] lecture hall to get your test back."
I was wearing my Green Man costume.
It was fantastic.
Loser or not? You decide.

I guess that final battle sort of counted, but since it wasn't a full-scale Stage VS Stage battle, I share your sentiment.
This is honestly the first time I've had a real desire to try multiplayer, but I don't have XBOX Live nor do I ever intend on getting it... so that's a no.

I bought and played and beat Brutal Legend.
Very fun game, great story, excellent voice acting.
This definitely helped me like Jack Black a bit more. I've "nothing"ed him for a long time now.
It's very heavy on RTS-style gameplay about halfway through, but I was a Starcraft nerd back in the day so I loved it.

I still stand by my opinion that the first Saw is a GREAT movie. The second one was fun, but not nearly as good. I saw the third and part of the fourth and honestly I can't say I'm surprised how low the series has dropped.

Last night I bombed HARDCORE doing stand-up.
In other news, today I realized I'm not Facebook friends with one of my roommates. Our rooms are literally five feet away from each other.
Also, this is currently above our kitchen sink, and I find it absolutely hilarious. Alternative for my note: "guys we are wasting too many napkins you guys"

Wednesday-Thursday Roundup:Missed Modern Family, Parks and Recreations, Community, and South Park... gotta' watch those later. The Office: I laughed more in this episode than I did total all of last season. A very big surprise. 30 Rock: Consistently funny, not hilarious or outstanding, but funny the whole time. Always Sunny: Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaah hilarious! There was actually a part where I was kneeling on the ground in laughter. That hasn't happened in a while. Great episode! And Green Man! I'm so excited for Halloween. Posted on: 22 October 2009, 23:25:40 Sunday Roundup:Venture Bros.: Haha, really funny episode. Captain Sunshine was great. Mad Men: ...my god. That was... hands down, some of the best acting I have ever seen on television. It literally killed me inside to watch. Outstanding, best episode of the entire series. Californication: Hank Moody is a godly character. This show is going very very strong for being in its third season. Dexter: Loving where this season is going. John Lithgow is killing, literally. Curb Your Enthusiasm: ...eh... just a bleh episode. I have no idea what to think of the ending. And by "bleh" episode, I mean I still enjoyed it, it just wasn't outstanding or anything. And some stuff felt very weird.

I'm a HUGE fan of typing in all-lowercase sans punctuation for comedic effect. I do it quite a bit on Facebook and around here, I believe. Basically, it's just a way of saying "don't take this seriously" or "this is meant to be humorous."

It's just that... it IS orange. I've seen the shirt many, many times. It's a university shirt, don't know which one, but it's definitely an orange shirt. And maybe since I've seen it so many times, it looks orange in the photo. Maybe the lighting's off and it looks red to you guys.
Regardless, #####ing stairs to nowhere.

It's orange, but then you're still right! That's the kid I've driven my car over, so I guess I kind of deserve it.
SO! Yesterday! Went to the Cider Mill with my friend, and then we find out that they closed literally 10 minutes before they get there, and it took us 20 minutes to find the place. So, in a fit of boredom and free time, we purposely drive ourselves lost and eventually come across... stairs.
By the side of the road.
Just... three sets of stairs, like right off of a porch or something.
She stops the car and hops out - of course I'm right behind her. This demands exploration! We go further into this field (there's paths) and find cement chunks littered all over, and more stairs. Just, tons of stairs. Some of them had railings on them, still. I'm talking full patterned iron railings.
We came to the conclusion that this was a demolished neighborhood or apartment complex or something like that. Something demolished.
At one point we found a huge rubber tube (the length of an average bed) that we could fit inside... so we did. We took turns rolling each other down hills in it, it was insane.
Eventually we found some interesting stairs: they were on a hill, so they were tilted. This was even more excited than all the other stairs, which were all plainly flat on the ground (though still entirely awesome due to not being connected to anything and leading nowhere).
So we took a few pictures on these tilted stairs.
We went back later in the middle of the night (around 1AM), rounded people up, and played tag. I took more pictures but they're on my digital camera which I can't actually take pictures off of right now. These are the ones I took on my cell phone.

I liked it because somehow those two homophones mustered up some brilliant comedic timing at the end there.
Yes, comedic timing can be written. And yes, I meant to write homophones. Well, I meant to write "homophobes" but I wrote "homophones" instead and it made me laugh so it's staying.
