I was just talking about the ones he directed. I know he's written a bunch, and mass-produced an entire ERA of cinema comedy, but his three movies definitely have a style that tie them all together moreso than any other Apatow-branded movie, and that's what I'm grouping together.

I saw Funny People tonight.
I loved it.
I was 100% expecting to be disappointed because I've really been looking forward to this movie, and a Sandler/Rogen film didn't seem like it could deliver after they've both gone so stale.
It was a little long, but I didn't mind. It was a near-perfect mix of drama and comedy.
What I don't think a lot of people will get is that some of the stand-up scenes aren't even meant to be funny, and people will be like "Oh, that ##### wasn't funny, what the hell." The point is that they're supposed to be amateur comedians and they're not always funny, and it's sometimes played out very much in that way... though it'll still go over a lot of folks' heads. But don't get me wrong, they managed to get some good material in there. I enjoyed it.
I'm glad it had a serious spin to it because I've always loved the more serious side of stand-up comedy.
Good stuff. Best Apatow film of the three by far.

I almost checked out Dirty Sexy Money because Peter Krause is in it, who played Nate on Six Feet Under. And I know one of the writers on SFU is the creator of Dirty Sexy Money. But I'm pretty sure that's where the relationship ends.
Now that it's cancelled I don't have any real desire to watch it, plus the premise didn't seem too interesting to me. I also didn't hear anything exceptional about it. I don't know a single fan of it, so that hurts it, too.
But yes, I am very much aware of it.
I'll watch nearly anything, so long as it has a strong fanbase, is generally very well-praised, and at least appeals to me a little bit.
This recent year I stopped judging things based on premise alone, because I would have missed out on a ton of amazing shows that originally didn't interest me. Like Breaking Bad, which sounded like a lame rip-off of Weeds when instead it is very different, much more serious, and I love it much more. Or How I Met Your Mother, which I passed off as your everday trashy sitcom without even watching. Or Californication, which seemed extremely boring and stupid to me. Or Eastbound and Down, which I expected to be a dumb Will Ferrel-esque comedy. Or Mad Men, which at first had me turned off by the simple fact that it took place in the 60's but is now easily one of my all-time favorite shows.
Goddamnit, if I don't make it into the television industry in some form or another, I will be a very sad man.

I watched first episode of True Blood last night. It's the first time I've really liked anything vampire-related that I can remember. There are still parts of it that bother me, but I definitely like it. It's interesting how they incorporate vampires as a race of people in our society, making them subject to racism and all that. Also, seriously, Mad Men is goddamn fantastic. I finished Season 2 the other night and I'm already antsy for the new season to start. 2 girls kissing.
Someone let me know when this episode happens in Heroes so I don't have to sit through the entire crappy season for it.

I don't think I've ever memorized the letters or colors on the buttons for SNES or XBOX. I can't possibly see how that's ever mattered to anyone aside from sometimes when the game mentions them telling you how to do a move or something... and even then, it's just once and you check which button it is, and you know how it feels and remembers that.
I always call the button that the tip of my thumb is on "B" and the joint of thumb is on "A", regardless of what they really are.

It's supposed to be a knuckle or something. I have no idea. I was laughing the whole time I drew this. I want Mike to post the original again since when I first drew this, it was from memory of that one to make fun of it and that made it funnier, but I really want to compare them now that it's been a long time. I was gonna' do that exclamation point like Vinch but I liked my other idea better.
Also, I meant to change it back before I went to bed last night. I'll keep it for the rest of today.

Also Snare is cheating on me with Michael but he doesn't want me to know and he is punching me to cover up his misdeeds and also to punish my misdeeds!
The reason Snare is wanting to date Mike is because they both have the same name and that sort of creepster stuff really gets Snare off!
