What a foolishly foolish fool.

Nothing, I just haven't gone to see it.  I'm not a big movie goer anymore.  That said, it looks like it'd be ok and maybe I'll see it at some point.
1403  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 1 December 2015, 19:37:46
I was considering seeing it.

It's really not bad.  Keep at it.
1405  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Mega Man Amiibo! on: 19 November 2015, 14:53:02
Don't forget the Gold Mega Man in the Legacy Collection Bundle!  (that I now care about because glorious physical cartridge release)!  Packaging is big enough for a full retail card, so I hope they do one.
1406  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: What are you watching? on: 3 November 2015, 14:28:01
I've actually got 2 shows to watch right now.  Fall is Doctor Who time, so I've been generally really enjoying series 9.  Only a few minor gripes, and if rumors of the finale are true, that will fix a big one for me (as well as how next week's goes might fix another).

Also, been LOVING the One-Punch Man anime.  I was worried it wouldn't do the manga justice, but it's been amazing.  I extremely disappointed it's only got 12 episodes.  I hope it gets picked up for more, as they've got quite a bit more to work with even before they catch up to Murtha's redraw.  The opening is hardcore awesome and the music is very well done.  I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes good anime.  Just a word of advice, it does start out a bit slow in world building, but once you hit episode 5/6 and the rest of the world starts to show up, the series REALLY hits it's stride.  Pretty much once Sea King starts, it's total gold.
1407  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 3 November 2015, 14:23:30
I've been playing a lot of Super Mario Maker.  It has a lot of missing pieces and I'd like more control on screen movement (freezing vertical scrolling of fixing screen position for single screen "rooms"), and adding some boss options like Boom Boom or Reznor or the Koopa Kids would be awesome.  Also, straight up vertical levels would be awesome, and the ability to mix/match horizontal/vertical sub areas.

I'm excited for the addition of check points and conditional power ups though.  I'll have to post some of my level codes up here for folks.
1408  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Megaman going to the movie screens courtesy of Fox on: 3 November 2015, 14:18:34
If it's not live action, it will be CG.  And probably use a horrid "stylized" artstyle that barely resembles the source material.

The blue squares do have a hypnotic effect.

We're all mostly just waiting to see what kind of "relaunch" Mega Man gets.  The new cartoon has already caused the delightful Archie comic to be canceled.  Will it get a new game based on the cartoon?  We don't know.  I expect it to be awful at any rate.
1412  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Megaman going to the movie screens courtesy of Fox on: 8 September 2015, 21:49:47
Saw Speed's post on this first, but from what I'd read this is a LIVE ACTION film.  God help us.

I had this to say on Speed's post:
Fox did such a good job on Fantastic Four, how could this NOT be complete #####?

But really, there's no way in HELL this won't be awful, regardless of who does it.  The only question is, HOW awful will it be?  So bad it's good?  Or so bad it's insulting and kills all spin off material for 5 - 10 years?

Well, I can see that, but you get virtually nothing for them it just seems awful to sell them, since they'll cost you 10x what you get out of them to get them back later.

Sell?  SELL?!  Are you INSANE?!  You don't sell stuff.  What if you want to play it again later?  It will cost you out the tits to buy it back.  Plus emulation is crap.  And, AND, digital re-releases are often hit or miss with cut content (copyright #####) or up or down (copyright #####).

No, you NEVER sell your games stuff.  NEVER.

1425  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Megaman Legacy Collection announced on: 16 June 2015, 16:01:07
It's not an issue of it being able to be done in retail, it's an issue of they just don't want to.  It doesn't have to be $60 retail.  A normal Classic/X style game for it's length is a $20/30 game, sure.  You can still sell that at retail.  It's more about the push to make EVERYTHING digital only and/or subscription based.

Also, gaming isn't about gaming anymore.  It's now focused on total mass market appeal, which means you have to make the most bland and shallow ##### to get such a wide market.  Games, the things we all like, don't sell to that target.  And frankly, why would a company make product for us compared to the GIANT market that the nongamer everyperson is?  THAT is where gaming is focused on now.  That is the market it's going for.  Add into that those types are all for massive DLC and microtransactions and you have traditional gaming being pretty much dead.

It's not really a Mega Man problem as a game problem.  You're right when you say we're not the target market for Mega Man.  They're trying to introduce him to this new market in the same cancerous style everything else is done in.

There are some things they COULD do to appease gamers, such as retail releases, but they just don't care or want to.

You shouldn't disturb the dead...
1428  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: Megaman Legacy Collection announced on: 10 June 2015, 21:02:47
Why anyone is excited for this is beyond me.  It's more lazy as ##### no new game rerelease rehash that is the only thing game wise Mega Man has gotten in living memory.  The "remix" mode garbage amounts to about as much effort as breathing.  Plus digital only, so right there it's absolutely worthless.  AND it isn't even all the classic games.

Nothing to see here, and frankly, no reason to think this has any bearing on anything new or good coming out for Mega Man in the foreseeable future.

ONE MORE THING!  People who support this kind of ##### is why we keep getting this kind of ##### and ONLY this kind of ##### from Capcom.

1431  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: More generic news indicating things might not be dead soon on: 9 June 2015, 14:29:14
You've started more games than most Kickstarters have failed at!  I'd say that makes you a producer by today's standards!
1432  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Matrix Archive? on: 9 June 2015, 14:28:10
And people want mobile "games" that make you pay to do every single thing that makes them playable.  People have ##### taste now.  In general.  It's really just gone back to how it was before gaming exploded.  People who like real games, still like them, but now there is this "fake gaming" culture of the mobile, microtransaction, dlc, digital only ##### that has become "gaming".  Hobbyists and people who like solidly designed games are back in the minority again, it's just that now we have this cancer that directly affects our hobby.

That doesn't mean the good stuff shouldn't be there for the people who enjoy and know how to appreciate it though.

1435  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: More generic news indicating things might not be dead soon on: 4 June 2015, 20:42:10
I'd be a great Mega Man producer!  I've even been working on a little project recently that I hope to be able to show when I'm a lot further into it.

But as that sadly won't happen I'll assume, like everyone else, that nothing will come of this new producer or Mega Man, and anything that does will be digital/mobile only DLC ##### fests that define current gaming and Capcom.
1436  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: NEW Mega Man cartoon coming in 2017 on: 4 June 2015, 20:39:37

These places are just far more fun than Facebook or social media.  The Red Priest is a far more interesting and tolerant person than me.  It's a bit of role play on top of everything else.  It is indeed a shame most of them are dead.

It appears it will, though later because they had to rebuild the game from scratch for the 3DS and Vita.

I'm going with Wii U for my physical copy.
1443  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Mighty Number 9 will have Physical Retail Releases on: 29 April 2015, 14:47:38
Looks like Comcept got a publisher and we WILL get a physical retail version of MN9.  It is a shame backers can't upgrade to the retail version so we'll be forced to buy it twice to get the version we want and support retail releases.
1444  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: A question that has probably already been asked on: 29 April 2015, 14:46:11
I have mixed feelings about MN9.  I think it's still has an extreme Mega Man vibe to it.  But it does feel kind of soulless.  It's hard to describe.  The 3D just doesn't speak to me as well.  I've never been a fan of 3D2D/2.5D stuff.

I've also stayed away from as much of MN9 as possible, so I haven't seen much of what they've put out.  I'll make my final decision after I play it.

I AM both elated and enraged they're doing an actual physical release (F that Steam "physical" release and USB stick garbage).  I already paid for a digital copy when I backed it, so now I have to buy it TWICE to have the physical copy.  Plus, how many of us WANTED it physical to begin with and didn't want to see it digital only at all?  Now how many of them can't justify buying the game twice, no matter how much they prefer retail?  That's going to cut into the retail physical release and dull the apparent support for that which may lead to an only digital squeal (if we get that far).  So do you buy it twice to support physical release?  That's a big double dip, and to some degree I'm sure they're counting on that.  It doesn't sit well with me, but we have no F-ing choice.
1445  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: 20XX on Steam on: 29 April 2015, 14:40:55
Steam = no "buy" ever.  The fact it looked extremely meh certainly didn't help it.

1447  MegaMan Series / Miscellaneous MegaMan Games / Re: Mega Man Amiibo! on: 29 April 2015, 14:34:49
I ended up with 2 because Gamestop messed up my preorder and entered 2 Mega Man instead of 1 Mega Man and 1 Sonic.

I eventually found Sonic, but that was a bit irritating.
1448  MegaMan Matrix / MMM General Forum / Re: Matrix Archive? on: 4 March 2015, 20:24:18
I could be wrong, but I think the referred content was that of the game guides, movies, maps...  The like.

I think I remember having an art/fanart section too...

Or maybe that was rez's site...

Correct.  The guides and what not.
