Hi.

My computer is fixed nao. At least I think so anyway, thanks to a little local computer shop called "Techs N the City".

Anyway, I'm back. I KNOW YOU ALL MISSED ME.

EDIT: Oh yeah, what did I miss?
3152  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Computer Problems & Assistance on: 25 June 2008, 18:52:33
I'll try the safe mode thing.

If that fails, I'm purchasing a harddrive, putting what I want on there and reformatting. My dad says this will cause all kinds of trouble though and that I shouldn't.

Posted on: 25 June 2008, 18:45:04

Just what are you guys doing with your computers to allow them to get infected anyway?

Try having a father who's bright idea was to lock down his son's computer and prevent him from maintaining security while your friend pulls a selfish act by downloading junk on your computer without your approval.

3154  MegaMan Series / StarForce Series / Re: So... MegaMan StarForce 2 just came out. on: 25 June 2008, 07:44:38
The game came out? Coincidentally, I'm busy with computer problems (duh), will be busy with school, and currently don't care.

I'll probably boycott til' Capcom announces the sales flopped.
3155  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Computer Problems & Assistance on: 23 June 2008, 21:59:41
Yes and no.

Due to the ware attack, my dad gave me administrator privaleges. I'd say that's the smartest move he's made in three years.

But NOW I can't manage to load ANYTHING on IE and I think my CPU is slower. Songs on my iTunes were actually skipping...

I am on MSN though.

Maybe I'll read what you people are doing to me when I resetup my computer. I'll strangle you afterwards.

Spybot removed like, 25 things that Norton overlooked.

CPU restarted.

IE7 was installed.

CPU restarted.

Now I'm back on the Wii 'cause it's not loading ANY pages. Any ideas on how to make it faster?
3161  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Computer Problems & Assistance on: 23 June 2008, 03:15:00
I'm working with Spybot S&D right now. All is working well so far with IE. When the pop-ups go away, I'll be more content.

EDIT: S&D found something called "CoolWWWSearch".

Is that it?

EDIT2: Woah Nelly. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4113.html

CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller (v1 and v2) is a new, real ugly variant of CoolWWWSearch. When running, it will close every browser window you use to visit a large list of anti-spyware-sites, and even will close Spybot-S&D and some other anti-spyware applications as well.

So if your copy of Spybot-S&D (or the anti-spyware application of your choice) closes a few seconds after starting, or your browser closes whenever you try to visit an anti-spyware site, try this CWS.SmartKiller removal utility.

Simply unzip and run!

Icons have disappeared, as well as my toolbar. Again.

Also, anyone signing in on MSN IM are popping up in the TOP LEFT corner now. Not the bottom right.
3162  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Computer Problems & Assistance on: 23 June 2008, 02:09:51
No more pop-ups, but IE won't let me view ANY posts here. It loads and never stops "loading". Again, I'm on my Wii.

Awhile ago my computer justs kept opening my homepage in multiple browsers over and over. I had to shut down. It was messy and aggravating.

I'll check out Tech support, then Spybot/AVG.

Posted on: 23 June 2008, 01:51:18

And NOW I can see this page.

And I GOT a Pop-Up again.

EDIT: Just thinking... all I REALLY want to save is my iTunes, music, Norton Internet Security, and default settings. How do I save that and "restart" my harddrive?
3163  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Computer Problems & Assistance on: 22 June 2008, 05:10:37
It says it was incomplete.

In other words, a failure...
3164  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Computer Problems & Assistance on: 22 June 2008, 04:49:45
I just did a system scan using Norton. It found 3 viruses, Adware, "AVSystemCare", "PCPrivacyTool", "SystemDoctor", and some cookies.

And somehow, I'm STILL getting pop-ups. I'm performing another scan.

I'm also having trouble logging on. When I log onto the computer, my toolbar disappears and my desktop freezes. I have to log off and log back in and hope it doesn't do that.

I just attempted to post this exact same message awhile ago until I got attacked by pop-ups and the same thing happened: My desktop froze.

EDIT: Also, I intentionally wanted to put this in the AOB board, but I'm apparently off by a tad bit and I can't seem to move it.
3165  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Computer Problems & Assistance on: 22 June 2008, 01:23:35
This thread can be used if there's a problem on the computer and someone is unsure or knows how to solve it.

Anyway, as I've stated before, I have unwanted wares on my computer that I need to get rid of. I'm STILL getting pop-ups like mad.

I'm paranoid and unsure what to trust. I'm constantly getting responses from a program called "AntiSpywareMaster" (I don't know if it was originally with my computer or not). I've now updated Norton Internet security and persuaded my parents to give me administration privledges.

Here's some screens of the problem. I just got these seconds ago. When these pop-ups come and I minimize them, they just pop right back up.

The 3rd one, aacpu3 is a random pop-up. I did NOT go to the site, and freewebs never gives me pop-ups.

EDIT: Does anybody know if these wares/viruses actually exist on my computer? Or is this a scheme to download something?

I'm posting this via Wiinternet. Don't expect any posts from me in a while 'cause I'm not gonna. It's taking me a long ass time just to "type" this, so yeah.

God damnit, I'm not letting anyone on this computer ever again.

My friend is a retard and went to some site when he came over today. I have adware and probably other junk on my computer now.

I'm getting a pop-up every five minutes and it's lagging like never before.

3175  MegaMan Series / Battle Network Series / Re: Does anyone know how Gaia Sword works? on: 19 June 2008, 17:23:15
#1) The question was already answered.

Use a chip after GaiaSword and the attack power of the next chips add to it's power of 100.

Basically, you can pile Salamanders, CrossSheild3s and alot of other high powered but hard to use chips after it to make it deals alot of damage.

Also, you need to be a Wood Style to use it.

#2) This topic ended months ago. As in, it's dead. You just necroposted.

Oh, and your welcome for this post.

Is that what you were mentioing Edge? Tales of Vesperia?

Eh. He doesn't appear in Sonic games as much as I'd hope for. It's like they're going in all the wrong directions with it.

Wait, what's this topic about? Sonic Unleashed? Yeah, that's a prime example right there.
3179  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Matricians: Show your Avatars! on: 19 June 2008, 03:25:39
It could be an obsession, but it could also be for bragging rights. I'm assuming John is REALLY good at Guitar Hero.

Example: For me, that's probably Yu-Gi-Oh! with the former, Mario Kart DS on the latter.

Hence the kids meals.
3181  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 19 June 2008, 03:01:20
Just got back from work. I had to get THE customer who had a very precise order with complicated junk and requests that Wendy's can't actually do. I wanted to put a bullet in her/my head.

In a nutshell, I want a sandwich, substitute the cheese with swiss, Jalepenos and cheese sauce on it, onions. Everything else put on the side, including mustard. I want three Jr. Bacons Cheeseburgers., one of them plain. Wait, make two of them plain. Make the other one extra bacon. Make sure all of the bacon is extra crispy. I want four kids meals. Wait, no, three. No wait, five. Nevermind, make it four again. All cheeseburgers, chili as the side. I know that's not an option for kid's meals but I want it anyway, and there's a line behind me and I'm not budging. Also, everytime you make a drink, I want to see you do a backflip, etc etc.

3183  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Sonic Unleashed on: 19 June 2008, 02:52:29
I liked Shadow when he first hit the scene at least. I hated the fact that they tried to kill him off, so they had to make him pull a Zero and have "lol, amnesia".

And I love Knuckles by the way, but he wasn't exactly Sonic's rival. They've stayed friends since Sonic & Knuckles. I'd say Metal Sonic is more of a rival to Sonic than Knuckles.

Never heard of Star Ocean until now. If they remake the sequel for the PSP, I might give it a try.

It'll give me another game to buy on the PSP platform at least.

3192  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Who wants an X Command mission 2? on: 18 June 2008, 17:40:42
If you could find any of them at least. I can only find BN3 used. But that's just my area so he might be more lucky.

I'm seeing every type of BN game used (except for the BN5:DS version) at my Gamestop. I'm sure I saw BN1 as well, but there was only one copy. They had one brand new in the box when I was looking for it years back, but I didn't want to spend $30 on an old game.

I'm quite sure. I remember BN2 not having a price tag on it for some reason.
3193  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Sonic Unleashed on: 18 June 2008, 06:44:18
Well they could've gone a lot better with it, but I liked Shadow when he first popped in. He just happened to pop in when Sonic games started to suck.

Sonic didn't NEED an "evil counterpart." He had a villain.

Can't think of the word, and I'm too lazy to think, but I always wanted there to be one in Sonic. Shadow was it.

Same for Mega Man. Mega Man had a villan too, Dr. Wily, but Bass popped in and fitted the role well.

I think the word I'm looking for is antagonist.

EDIT: Actually, I think Shadow is the LAST new Sonic character I like. There's E-123, but he was... I dunno. Meh. In general, I don't like looking at the cover of a Sonic game and seeing a face I don't recognize. They have TONS of characters as it is.
3194  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Sonic Unleashed on: 18 June 2008, 06:36:27
Sonic needed an "evil" counterpart. Shadow fit that roll. That's enough hedgehogs for me. Sonic, Shadow, and Amy.

Silver just made me think, "... Great. ANOTHER Sonic character."

I've liked Sonic and Shadow.

I don't get Silver.

The Incredible Celt!

(lame)

No offense, but I'm weirded out by that photo. It looks like you're coming onto me rather than an attempt to be cool.

I'll just... blame it on the camera angle...
3198  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Who wants an X Command mission 2? on: 18 June 2008, 06:12:45
Right. When I think turn based, I think it's going to be predictably boring. I'll attack, I'll be attacked, repeat. I totally forget those little elements in the game that make the RPG worth playing.

The little area on the bottom right helped me strategy-wise as well. I'd know when I'd have to recover health or strength.

EDIT: John, you should at least give BN1-3 a shot if possible. At least one. Preferably #2.
3199  MegaMan Series / X Series / Re: Who wants an X Command mission 2? on: 18 June 2008, 06:07:37
The great thing about Battle Network was you could take your sweet time with a turn. Your custom gauge was just there to keep you from spamming chips, so you'd have to dodge some attacks or compose a strategy during that time before the next turn.

BN5 is a different story, and I one of the reasons why I hate "liberating" areas.

Basically, I'm saying the early Battle Network was original, new, and really fun. Command Mission is the same. I have a friend who's really into RPGs and never played Command Mission. He watched a video about it and he was thought it was an amazing game.
