MegaMan fans are the type of people that examine every detail of every new piece of related media with every bit of precision possible. Moreso than, say, the Mario or Zelda or Kirby crowds.
Now that you mention it, although I don't remember all of it, I do remember seeing a Mario movie before. I remember thinking, "What? THAT'S YOSHI? THOSE ARE KOOPAS? WAT." When I think of that, this movie doesn't look that bad. At least he's sticking to character designs.

Nothing in that trailer was surprising or different from what we've seen before, it's so odd that now people on this board have a problem. I feel like--in the MM community as a whole but also prevalent on this site--if a certain amount of people squirt over something then a lot of people follow suit, hyping up the next person that much more and so on. And if a certain amount of people bash something then the people follow suit that way, with similar exponential movement. It's actually something I find very hard to stand.
I try not to, and hold on to my opinion for the most part. I actually will enjoy this movie. It's weird. It's like, I think this movie won't be real good... yet... it's gonna be good.

More like, I'm playing as Guts Man fighting Fire Man (Almost any other boss can apply), when put against the wall like that, will just run around in circles and refuse to attack. They're sitting ducks. Posted on: 15 November 2008, 03:24:35
I've been attempting some of the challenges in Mega Man 9 out of boredom. How do you complete the World Warrior challenge? Is there a list of every enemy and how to defeat it? Do I have to clear the game to complete it? I think I've beaten everything that moves except those invincible cannon things in Hornet Man's stage.

I agree that some of this looks pretty junky, and that Roll is... pretty bad, but seeing as this has a limited budget, I will defend this movie if anyone overly bashes it.
I get the feeling I will enjoy this movie. Perhaps it can bring inspiration for a real Hollywood Mega Man movie years from now. Who knows?
But in all honesty, yes, that trailer seemed pretty "bleh" here and there. It took me a little while to actually tell who Elec Man and Ice Man were, and although Mega/Rock and Roll aren't up to perfection, you have done a fine job with this movie from what I've seen so far.

Well, anyone could do anything. So that statement is null. I hate when people say that.
I could've made Star Wars. If it wasn't made already and stuff. And I cared about that sort of thing and wanted to make a movie like that. I'm saying of course it's possible.
I'm not talking about the possibilty, I'm talking about the creativity.

Beat Mega Man 9 again, and cleared five challenges. Clear time is 01:15:42. EDIT: Huh. That's actually not very good, but oh well. EDIT2: I know why... it's because I spent 30 minutes picking up Bolts... :/ Posted on: 25 November 2008, 21:23:59
Game cleared in 00:30:23.

I was just messing around with a fight with Galaxy Man and I wanted to jump high and at the peak of my jump shoot him with concrete.
It froze the black hole above him.
I redid the fight, and you can of course freeze the bomb before it explodes.

If I could make quick comments... - Awful stage design. AWFUL. All of them. Without exception. X8 took everything X5 - X7 did wrong and rolled it into one game. The levels were each poorly made "themes" that stiffled your playing to some degree, in some cases rivaling Metal Shark Player's stage. There was not ONE single good stage in X8. Actually... there's quite a couple I liked. I just missed some sort of actual side-scrolling gameplay, and a lot of the stages supplied that. Of course, other offered cheap gimmicks that I hate to replay, like bike riding, elevator riding, etc. - 2 man party system was broken and poorly implemented. It was bad enough changing characters between stages, but IN THEM? It removed any reason to play as one character as stages were made to be played by switching. Remember X4? Some parts were easier with X, some with Zero, and it really extened the gameplay because each character required you play the stage differently. X8 does not. It's the same. Every time. I can agree to that. While swapping in between characters I felt was a nice idea, it would've been better as a sequel if you just went alone. You can thank X7 for that implementation. - 3 playable characters. Same problem X7 had. Axl serves no purpose. He does not offer anything different X or Zero already gave. He's a 3rd wheel fan character that kills the dynamic between X and Zero. Agree fully. - Buying your upgrades do not belong in an X game. I'm sorry, you are not allowed to disagree. Finding your 8 heart tanks and 4 sub tanks was half the fun of the game and worked quite well. X8 just adds so much unnecessary GARBAGE that gets in the way of the core gameplay. Agree fully. - The music was among the worst in the series. ... give or take. Some of them were catchy. I still have the Jacob theme on my iTunes. - The change in art direction was like vomit in your eye, and the only reason it isn't the worst thing to ever happen to X and Zero is Mega Man Zero. Agreed. - All of the complete and totally RANDOM ##### put in the game to make it "cool". Vile. Why's he back? No fanfare when he dies again. He was just there. No reason other than VILE IS COOL LOOK! LOOK! X8 IS GOOD AGAIN! The utterly mind bogglingly WRONG use of the word Maverick. But getting into that is a whole other discussion and not necessairly in itself X8's fault. Agreed so much. If there's one thing I downright hate about the game, it's the cruddy storyline. Everything made little to no sense at all. I mean... orbital elevator? Fight Sigma on the moon? wat?

It being a fan film is no excuse for it being terrible.
It doesn't NEED to be made.
There's no reason for it to exist if it can't be good.
If I can say one thing about it... It's not much but... This will be much better than the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie. I'm actually entertained a bit by this. The script needs work, but I can enjoy some of it.

I can't really tell which stages are what, I haven't played the game in a long time.... But I can tell Freezeezy Peak, Gobi Desert, and the haunted mansion level so far... Posted on: 22 November 2008, 14:13:18
I think I hear that one level with the ship, cruddy water, and that shark from the second world from BK. Forgot the name of that level. Posted on: 22 November 2008, 14:16:27
I think I'm hearing Battle Music in that credits theme... I loved all the battle themes in BK. THIS EXCITES ME.

I just need it to talk to the internet that's not through my computer, because my step-dad is a nazi when it comes to AIM talk and Skype.
Yes. I realize that talking on the Wii is essentially the same thing as AIM, but he refuses to acknowledge that.
I'll get it for Christmas Sano, so chill.
