Title: Atomic Fire? What happened?
Post by: megajosh2 on 11 May 2008, 17:05:03
May I ask what happened to atomic-fire.com? I got renders from there and no doubt a lot of other people hearted that site. I've been "off the mm nerd scene" for a while and have no idea what happened to everything, ex. what happened to Strider's Domain?

Atomic Fire had so much more class and style than MMN.  The forums at MMN are awful.  But as MegaMan is all but dead, it really doesn't matter.  Matrix's forums are the last bastion of what used to be a quality Mega Man community.

Atomic Fires board was great, there wasn't much moderating, which made topics very fun. But it was also a bad thing, a lot of noobs grew there. And they still lurk in the MM community..

RPM is.. the 4Chan of Mega Man.. >.>

No other MM site was ever good.

That's not even a joke or a boast.

Don't be so quick to talk like that when this MegaMan site is nothing more than a message board at the moment. Ohoho!

"DON'T UNDERESTIMATE US!"

This place would be rockin' if all of those promised features would be added by now. JEEZ ABE HURRY UP!

My favorite part was the level maps.

It was just cool to see them all laid out like that in one shot.

Believe me, if there was any "competition", there'd be a site.

And there'll be plenty soon.  ish.

No, "plenty soon" means never.

"Plenty soon. Ish." means never ever.

I'm mildly surprised no one mentioned Skull Castle.

Anyway the level maps where great, as well as the little pieces of info stage enemies and special tricks.

Those were what really stood out to me. Even the incomplete walkthrough stuff was enough to show that the Matrix was something special.

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?
Post by: ChaosVortex on 4 June 2008, 22:45:15
When I first heard about Skull Castle, it was about it's closing. I never really got deep into the old Mega Man community back then. The closest I got to one was the ol' public MChat.

So when I got back online those years ago, the first places I was hunting for were places my roots had been in, The Matrix being one of them.

Yep. You just sparked some sort of minorly nostalgic memories.

Oh, how neat. I was thinkin' it was some thing for MChat or something..

Abe, flawless victory.
You still have them all obviously.

Of course.

Like I say, I've got everything, it just needs some TLC before it's back up since I don't want to just have the same old ##### up untouched.

I still have to get my MM&B stuff off my old computer somehow...

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?
Post by: ASR on 5 June 2008, 01:55:03
We can wait for MM&B content.

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?

I personally wouldn't care... much. It'd be a nice browse, but I already 100%'d the game. All the discs, weapons, everything.

I can name two things better to do with your time:

- Draw MegaMan Classic artwork
- Draw MegaMan X artwork

I can name many more things better to do with you time. But it would be a bad thing to do with my time to list them all.

Most of Mike's suggestions involve the anus.

Being one of the content developers and the forum supervisor of MMN, I think I resent all this hate.

Let me think about it and get back to you on it, though. I'm not totally sure if I'm resenting, I might just have cramps.

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?
Post by: ChaosVortex on 9 June 2008, 03:16:35
You'd probably be resenting on the forum bit.

The site, not so much. Although it doesn't have the flare of Atomic-Fire (no pun intended), it does have content.

EDIT: From what I understand, this isn't news to you. The same thing has been said countless times on other forums, so I don't see how this is surprising.

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?
Post by: preventerWIND on 9 June 2008, 03:19:55
Yeah, it's my main fill of the news. But the forums aren't my style, people there are cool, but it's just not me.

Isn't it obvious? Like the MMZ Complete Works Transla-.. eh..

Or that silver figure of the classic MegaMan available on the interne-.. eh..

uh.. SF3?...

Hey, if we don't know about something, it's news. But then again who'd want to know about SF.. So I submit : (

Star Force news IS actually interesting you butt.

Like it's inevitable doom to rot and die.

To be honest, Skull Castle was just a board and no site.

And we almost never talked about Megaman.

It was fun, though.

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?

But then drama struck and... oh well.

Title: Re: Atomic Fire? What happened?

Skull Castle was a catch all for 2 or 3 little sites that no one really talked about for the most part.
