Title: Robot Evolution

I'm glad they've learned how to die before learning how to conquer. It means we have 2 chances.

The second chance is John Connor.

So, robots have learned to lie, cheat, and steal, while others have a sense of justice and become heroes?

Where have I heard this before?

That fourth colony is a bunch of A-Holes.

Scary stuff actually.

The year is 200X, THE TIME IS NOW.

MASON: You know what, computers are going to like, take over the whole world/

RUBE: Never happen. Computers won't get smarter than people.

BETTY: I think they already are.

RUBE: Yeah, when a computer looses it with a meter maid - no offence - or kills it's self because it thinks its too fat, then I will believe in artificial intelligence.

Woah.

That's very cool and very weird.

That makes me wonder...

Are we safe?

And is someone going to make another buff exoskeleton to combat the lying robots?

Well if all they do is lie, then they'll all go to prison for purgery.

I always wonder why people keep making things like this.

It's inevitable that robots will take over, but we need to at least say that we tried.

It's not much robots that "think" that are a problem. It's a lot of robots thinking, or one machine/system that has too much authority going bonkers.

The usual fiction of machines taking over starts with the latter (Terminator's Skynet, I, Robot's  Vicky), a system that's in place to maintain order but has too much AI. Systems like that, like missle defence systems (Skynet) should never be able to become self aware, because that leads to self preservation, and eventual war.

Then there's fiction stuff like in The Matrix, where the machines band together. If AI were to get to a level that is close to this kind of thing, this is the more likely scenario; We ##### with the artificials too much, and they ##### off making their own country but it doesn't work out and they turn on us 'cause we're big assholes to them.

It'd probably never start with unwarranted malicious intent by the artificial life. If something like that happens, it'll be our fault.

If you really think about it, it's like designing a weapon that kills you when you fire it, just on a much more complex level.

Especially with Skynet,  became self aware, became self preserving, launched a nuclear strike against Russia so that Russia would hit the U.S., and caused a global nuclear devastation and machine uprising within it's first few hours after going live.

It's all some big contest. "Who will be the first one to make a robot that we can't stop?"

Just wait until they start reproducing.

One robot is never really a problem. It's lots.

Like zombies, and leeches, and republica-OH WHAT?!

Having one single zombie around would probably be hilarious.

Until he bites you. I still recommend anyone I meet to read the Zombie Survival Guide.

Yes, that is what I refer to as "The Good Book".

In school we had to write a "how to" paper. Sounds boring, right?

Wrong. I wrote mine on how to survive a Zombie invasion. 7 pages of pure awesomeness. I got an A.

That book was written in the 80's when Judgement Day was supposed to happen in 1997. The future has changed, that book is irrelevant.

Must be a different book because mine definitely says 2005 by the copyright. I don't think that changes its irrelevance, though.

Copyright =/= when it was written and first published.

I don't think the 2005 rerelease included the special foreword by Kyle Reese either. If anything, it's more irrelevant.
