I haven't sprited in forever so I decided to do some pixel art and practice some dithering. It's a little sloppy since its a school night and I wanted to get it done, but I'm definately revising this so criticism is welcome. I've always liked to draw hoodies but could never get it right. It's 6 colors total with the background color.

This is the first AW game I've played, I never played the other ones before. Maybe it's just that I'm bad, but this game is really hard, I usually have to sacrifice some of my units to finish the later missions. The game isn't difficult in a way you want to quit the game though, it's difficult in a fun way, using a lot of thinking before you make your moves. I'm about on the 5th mission right now.

We were supposed to create a magazine cover for my Graphics' class final. Mine's not finished but all there's left is the background which is going to be pretty simple, so I'll just show the part I worked on the most. There's supposed to be a after image of the text on the cover, but my old comp's monitor is pretty dim so I can't see it, or maybe my school monitors are just really bright.

Last and only Zero-esque games I've played and finished were MMZ 1 & 2. I just got ZX and I like it a lot, though it seems harder than the MMZ games, maybe i'm just rusty or hallucinating. Or both.
The first four missions you get that involve biometal activity, is there a certain order I should do them? Do the models supposedly do more damage on a certain boss? Also does MMZX have any techniques like in the MMZ games?

I really think you shouldn't be copying big parts from the original navi sprites such as parts of the head, etc. You could at least try to draw them yourself, or edit them so they can fit the sprite better. Also the two sprites are just recolored sprites with parts pasted onto them, only thing that I can see you actually drew something is on the plant soul, but that's just three lines on the legs.
From what I see you didn't try to change any of the sprite features, Megaman's (or is it that generic navi guy in the games) shoulder pads are still the same, his boots are still the same, only edit to them is a color change and a few things added in. I suggest that you actually edit the shape of these features, or something so we don't have to see the same features from the original base on them. Just use the official souls for example, you don't see any of them using the same shoulder pads with a different color scheme (bass soul doesn't count because it smells), they do more changing than that.
I hope you're getting what I'm saying, I see nothing re-sculpted (can't find a better word) on the original bases, only things recolored and added on. I'm sure with the work you've done on your old sprites, you can do this.

Just gonna ramble on my thoughts here:
A lot of my younger relatives enjoy playing games like Megaman ZX and Starforce A LOT. When I asked them about these games they thought ZX was the coolest game ever, and that the older Megaman games weren't appealing. Personaly I think Capcom is just focusing on the newer younger generation of gamers more than the older ones. In there own way they're making games that are fun for younger children but really I'd wish they would also care about the fans of the older generation.

The 8-bit sprites look really good as they resemble their MMZ counterparts well, but they have too many colors and shouldn't have that black outline I think. You should view some of the other 8-bit Megaman sprites to use as a reference for color usage.
Edit: Scratch that, black outline's actually okay, but I think some of the MMXtreme sprites have no black outline so they can have an extra color to use.
2nd Edit: Okay excluding the peach, black, and white (since most of the 8-bit Megaman bosses use these colors in the NES games if that's the 8-bit style you're going for) use like 2 colors. Harpuia has green, yellow, and red. You should try to remove one of the colors and try to work around with that.
Fefnir from what I can see at x1 has two colors, red and yellow so he's fine. But on the gun there's also some gray, replace that with the black you used as the outline.
Phantom has Gray, Yellow, and Red. You should just replace gray with the color of the black outline too. On that ninja vanish effect thing I also see another lighter gray so there's actually another color. My advice is maybe instead just use white as a highlight, or addding either yellow or red might work.
Leviathan has Blue, yellow, red, and Turquoise. First I suggest you should just replace turquoise with your blue, you don't need turquoise in there. Then you should decide to eiether keep the yellow or red, you might want to keep red because of her spear.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, I didn't really want to do a a detailed skin that would stick out too much from the silver (but couldn't help it) so I just picked the color yellow (dark skin colors on a silver DS stick out too much for me). Later I'm planning to just design a white skin for my DS with some simple designs on it that would blend in better with the silver. Personally now I think some white skin with some simple shapes or something would look good on my DS.

On Decal Girl there's a .psd file for the template which you can edit. Yeah I don't like the square cut-out around the speakers either, It might look better if there were just hole cut-outs for the speakers instead but that would be really hard to put on. I'm still happy that the skin makes my scratched DS look newer at least.

It's not really capcom's fault. I forgot to mention that the contrast on the gray isn't good, since the blue looks like it has a thick black outline. You need to fix that. Add some black pixels on the grey too, so it'll fit better.

It pains me to be wrong but I should've used Spybot, as it detected some malware that my other programs couldnt >_> So it removed the malware toolbar that was stuck in my browser.
But yeah, my comp is clean from malware/viruses thanks to the help of some people on a tech forum reading my computer logs. Thanks for the help guys.

Well I found out recently that after I deletred XPAntivirus, some other similar clones showed up so basicly my comp got infested with malware. Right now I'm just running safe mode and giving AVG and Ad-Adware 07 a try, though Ad-Adware gave me an error while I was deleting the infected files saying that I wasn't allowed to.
AVG seems to be doing alright at searching for the infected files so far, do I just set them as quarintine and delete them on the infections button?

I've only made a skin from a site called Decalgirl, which is fun how you can design a skin in photoshop for your consoles and such. Most 'modding' i've ever done was designing a skin for my DS. (since it makes up for not having a lite...sorta>_>

My friend stupidly sent me a file with this fake spy ware detector (dont ask, long story). And it constantly creates pop up messages saying my comp is at risk unless I buy their scam software.
I went to safe mode and deleted the Xpantivirus folder from program files but I still have the same messages popping up. There's some sites online that explain how to remove it but most of them involve installing different software to remove it, which makes me nervous/paranoid that it's probably more scam software. Anyone had a problem like this before and have any advice on removing it? Thanks.

For mkvmerge:
On the input tab, look for Input Files and click add, and search for the movie you want to split. Then look for tracks, and select what's in it. Then on output file name click browse, then save into the folder you want your split movies to be in. If you see more than one item in the tracks list do the same for it as well.
Then go to the globals tab, and under Splitting check the box for Enable Splitting. Select "...after this duration:" and type out the time duration you want for each split movie. (hh:mm:ss) Now check the box for link files, and in max. number of files type out how many parts of the movie you want to be split. Then at the bottom click Start_muxing, and the split parts of the movie should all be in the folder you selected to save in from the first step.

If you're just splitting movies there's this one freeware program I use called mkvmerge (GUI). It takes like one min save and stuff once you're done splitting though I've only tried it with MKV files, i'm guessing it'll save another type of file (like an avi) into MKV format but you can still upload MKV's onto Youtube, and the file size isn't so bad.

I dont really like how the pants look right now but the shading and colors on them looks good to me. Her right arm is kinda bleeding a bit into the pants, not really a problem but it might look a little better if you add some black/purple pixels in there. Forgot to show this sprite, it was another sprite of one of my many re designs months ago, it's from scratch.

The bg of the sprite (transparent or not) also counts as a color. Usualy though the MMZ sprites dont acutaly have a full 16 colors in them, they have like about 8-12 colors or so if you really care about that stuff. Removing some of the colors will make it easier to fix the contrast, also make the last shade of each color darker, or something to make the shades more different from each other.
