MegaMan Series / Legends Series / Re: How do you honestly feel about the Mega Man Legends series?

I was never really into Legends. I mean, when I first saw it, I was thinking that it was a must-have. When I finally saw the gameplay, however, I immediately felt that it was lacking. To this day I have not played more than 2 hours of it, but I've watched other people play it.
I don't think MegaMan gameplay can't necessarily be brought to 3D, though. I just don't think it's been properly done yet.

Oh jeez. Lookit that mother#####in' sphere grid. (Sorry John.)
Also, I think it was Diablo that had the glass balls of health/magic originally. It's just odd to see if deliberately ripped off like that.
I don't mean to hate, though. I ended up getting Torchlight myself when it was cheap. I hoped to lose myself in it, but every top-down action RPG has failed to grab me. Including Bastion. I don't really know why, but I guess it's because either I don't give them enough of my time for them to do so (in which case I tell myself I'll come back to it later and never do) or that it's just difficult for me to get into new things in general these days.
I mean, I say that looking over all of the games I own which haven't been finished.

I have a feeling that maybe if I replayed them, I'd completely agree with Rez, but I'm not gonna because why even.
All of the things that X8 actually did RIGHT just accentuated the empty ideas behind the plots of the past several games. It leaves you with a good feeling, at first, but then you're like... "Why is this game X8? Why isn't it X5, or even X2 or X3 for that matter? Why aren't the stories a natural progression of each other, and the characters within them?" And stuff like "What was Vile even doing all those years?"
Of course, the answer is money. It's a creativity killer.
I was always kind of invested in X's story because it hit me at such a young age, I guess. Like X himself, it had genuine potential.

I'm in the same boat in terms of liking Command Mission, and that game was like MY LIFE at the time that I played it. "HE MUST NOT USE THE SUPRA FORCE METAL" is embedded in my skull. I would really like to find the patience in myself to play an RPG like that ever again, but I think that's a problem I may have with most RPGs of that type. It's not because of anything particularly wrong with Command Mission, if you ask me. For example, I ended up getting Xenoblade Chronicles with store credit (mainly because they didn't have the other game I wanted) and I haven't touched it yet because I know it will be a long, dense experience and I don't know when/if I want to invest the time to play it.
I don't know if it's even questionable at this point that the first MMX is the best of them all. It really came through with this premise that really worked as character development AND as a game, which is quite rare.
I would willingly go back and replay X, X2, and X4. MAYBE X5 just to relive certain parts.

For Christmas/Birthday: My girlfriend got me a Zelda T-shirt, a pixelated heart mug that turns red when hot, and a Luigi plush. My parents got me a vegan cookbook, a 29 inch TV, dark hot chocolate, and a 125 dollar gift card, a red Nintendo shirt with a bunch of Mario characters (which I would never wear but it's awesome regardless) and some really comfortable black pyjama pants that I am wearing right now. My brother and his girlfriend got me a Batman: Arkham Asylum posable figure.
I may use the gift card to buy 2 seasons of Breaking Bad and BBC's Sherlock, which have been my two favourite shows of late (mind you, I don't watch very much television).

The level design is ass. In some stages I'm practically ignoring almost every enemy on the way to the boss.
I beat Ryu, Dhalsim, Chun Li, and then Blanka, and then I went to Urien's stage and hit a spot where I couldn't move forward at all and I was like "##### this I quit." Apparently I was supposed to "climb" what appeared to be just a background object that did not look at all like a typical ladder.
I don't even know what the order is, I was just randomly picking them. More than the fact that there's no save system, though, this is clearly not even close to any kind of MegaMan standard. It's not that I expected any better, but I figured it's possible that Capcom would have put some effort into rebalancing and fixing the design flaws of a game that they would put their seal of approval on.
To put it simply, it's more style than substance.

I don't wish my dead grandfather a happy birthday every year.
MM2 and X1 were the first MegaMan games I ever played. When I first played MegaMan 2 I observed that he could shoot different weapons from a hand that was a gun and that he could also change colours and I thought that was pretty cool so I would spam all of the different colours and weapons until I couldn't use them anymore. I was very young.

Does anyone have Kirby's Dream Collection? It came out recently, and despite my recent disdain for Kirby games, I might actually get it. It contains (pasted from GameStop):
6 Classic Kirby games included in one package:
Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy, April 1992 release) Kirby's Adventure (NES, May 1993 release) Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Game Boy, March 1995 release) Kirby Super Star (Super NES, Sept. 1996 release) Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES, Nov. 1997release) Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (N64, June 2000 release)
Also includes:
Brand-new Challenge Stages like the ones in Kirby's Return to Dream Land (Wii) Kirby 20th Anniversary Soundtrack CD (Featuring 45 Kirby songs) Immersive and Interactive Timeline to see footage and box art of all Kirby's game releases. 48-page booklet featuring various information about Kirby's star-studded career Some of the classic games include multiplayer modes.
I'm wondering if this might be worth 40 dollars, and it seems like it is. Just interested in a second opinion if anyone has one.

Yup. Apparently I have been converted to digital media. At least, Steam-wise.
If anyone wants to multiplay Trine 2, let me know.

Well, I guess that pretty much answers everything. Thanks, John.
The good thing about bending is that it simplifies the problem of destruction on that kind of scale. It seems like benders can just as easily reverse a lot of the damages done, though the city probably requires very high maintenance.
It WAS kind of weird to have "General" Iroh standing next to a fire-bending athlete with a much lower voice, though.

Okay, I gave it a shot. There seem to be some inconsistencies with how they use their magic, but none that can't be explained away. It's pretty dang good for a cartoon, actually.
I found it interesting that they polarized an issue that seemed so morally grey. Is magic inherently evil? No. Is equality inherently evil? Also no.
About the finale:
Regarding the fact that Amon is a water/blood bender changed people's opinions of him: he can't control what he was born with. The fact that he treated his outing as a lie was the wrong decision. He should have went with the truth and explained that he would remove his own bending once he was sure that he had "cleansed" everyone else. He might have lost SOME support for having lied in the first place but he wouldn't have completely been undermined as a villain. I'm not saying that as a criticism of the writing, but I think the guy made a huge mistake. And I say villain, but I totally don't think he was. I think he was just an antagonist more than anything. I'm not biased for or against magic users by having watched the original show, so he didn't really seem all that horrible and they didn't seem to show that he had any evil ulterior motives.
It totally caught me off guard that firebenders could fly. I'd have to go back and re-analyze every scenario I've seen with a firebender and wonder why they didn't use that in each scenario. The worst one I remember was episode 6, where Korra was "in mortal danger" and Lin Beifong had to go back to save her, but apparently they could have joined in the attack on the ship by her simply flying and by Beifong simply giving credence to the fact that Korra is the Avatar and could have flown. This problem could have easily been avoided if one of those qi blockers had did one of those attacks on her before she fell, though, so I guess it's not a big deal.
I attempted to lower the average for everyone else instead of getting Bastion, because when I got it I wasn't sure what to think of the game. I realized that might have done absolutely nothing if the average was the median or the mode instead of the mean, but oh well.

The bundle is worth it for Psychonauts and LIMBO alone.
Those are the very two games that I'm getting it for. They were on my Steam watch list waiting for a drop in price.

Your own video illustrates one of the main reasons why I disliked that game so much... the long, unforgiving repetitiveness of it. If you played anyone other than Zero you'd run out special weapons that actually harm bosses to a considerable degree, and you're stuck pea-shooting them for a good... over ten minutes, as you can see here.
I don't think that MMX CAN'T be done well in 3D, but in this case I still feel like the game could have been much, much better even despite its design gimmick.

I thought we were just slamming our fists down because Capcom was bastardizing MegaMan in some silly way again.
It's strange to me that anyone would want to play Street Fighter X Tekken. It's another fighting game on top of... how many has Capcom done lately? MUCH more than I could possibly care about, at least.
I've yet to want to play Mass Effect 3. I watched a bit of it from the beginning... I feel like I might as well just play Mass Effect or ME2 again, and I don't even want to do that. That's just something I've been holding in for a while and felt like saying just now.

I'm about ready for a title called MegaMan vs. Katamari.
This is utter chaos, and it's too early for April Foolin', but I have a strange feeling that they're gonna take it back like "It's just a box art joke! Because we've been pulling out that one a lot! Ha ha, get it?"

Having the level editor mode available would make me want to play it. Until then, nah.
I still get enjoyment out of SMBX (the one made in visual basic, I think). I check the community from time to time, grab a completed episode, play it through. It's like Mario on demand.

I actually sent Nintendo a pretty large rant about Skyward Sword via Club Nintendo's survey thing. I was a little overly negative towards the game, sort of like "Okay, that was pretty good, but you can do a lot better."

That's actually interesting about Mario VS Donkey Kong. I saw Mario VS Donkey Kong 2 and the gameplay is different from the first, yet I assumed it was probably the same, and unlike the Game Boy Donkey Kong.
So... Mario Kart 7 anyone? At over 2000 coins I've finally unlocked a kart that really suits my playstyle. It's amazing how drastic the difference in my skill level went when the stats on the kart I changed from are apparently only slightly different, and in 150CC I'm starting to get 3 star rankings all across the board.
My win rate against Chaos is 27.5% but I suspect that may change more in my favour soon. I am somehow rubbing my hands as I type this.

It takes a long time to get a partnership though and I wouldn't count on it. I know someone who's a Youtube Partner but her earliest video was 2007 and she doesn't get paid that much. It's on a per view basis. You need lots of subscribers to and lots of loyal fans to be able to live off of the money even after becoming a partner.
Not to discourage you or anything. It's just not as easy as it looks.

Revisiting the areas in Skyward Sword was awesome - they totally eschewed the whole stigma involved with doing that sort of thing and instead it made the whole game that much more memorable and engaging.
Honestly, having just started the next "dungeon", I already retract my statement. That felt like...
An awesome mix between the twilight realm and... the big dungeons in Phantom/Spirit Tracks.
