Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Old(ish) flash game
|
on: 31 March 2013, 04:11:00
|
Does anyone remember a flash game from a few years back...it involved "picking up" 7 or so bodies (but the only way to beat the game was to not pick up the bodies until the very end) and had weird music that was essentially tones? The game messed with spatial ideas and involved a lot of thinking outside the box (what looked like a wall might not be, what seemed like a short hallway actually went on forever, etc.). For the life of me, I can't remember the name of it and I feel like playing it again. Posted on: March 27, 2013, 09:23:59 AM
Three days later, I finally found it! I present you with "feign" http://ian.janasnyder.com/feign_2.html

MegaMan Series / Classic Series / So I bought some art
|
on: 3 February 2012, 19:12:02
|
This week, the university library that I work at had an auction of crap from their archives that doesn't really belong in there. I really wanted this one sci-fi art piece, mainly because it's crazy looking and I could score it for cheap. Original valued at $950, I picked it up for $21. Here's the art. It's from some L. Ron Hubbard "Mission Earth" thing. I couldn't put my finger on why I felt like I really needed to pick it up, and then I remembered this: The "Mission Earth" piece is from 1986. Meanwhile, the Mega Man 2 box art is from 1988/1989. I think I've found the inspiration for that crappy box art.

Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Please help out my library - 11/21/10

Hey guys, Sorry if this is considered spam, but my library is going to be running a book fair at Barnes & Noble on November 21st. Pretty much all it is, is that you go in on the 21st with the voucher, buy some stuff (minus stuff at Starbucks and a few other things), and my library gets a portion of the sales done through the day. In turn, we use this money to keep purchase new materials and keep our library running. You don't have to show up at Barnes & Noble; you can actually purchase stuff on their website - just make sure you use the number found on the voucher. If you are going to do it in-store, make sure you bring the voucher with you, otherwise the cashier won't know what you're talking about. Thanks in advance. Here's the event page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154753711234581And on MySpace: http://tinyurl.com/27x65naPlease invite your friends! Posted on: November 08, 2010, 09:24:53 AM

The 28th was Metty's birthday. He hasn't been around on this site for a long time, and I haven't talked to him for years. But in case he's floating around, I'd like to wish Metty a happy birthday.

Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Foundation Trilogy game
|
on: 10 October 2009, 16:21:22
|
Hey,
While working on some stuff for my class that started two hours ago, I started thinking about this old game I used to play on my Macintosh back in the day. It was based on Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy", and you had to visit 20 planets within 1000 years and get them to join your empire before civilization completely crumbled. Very early RTS game, although I got to be pretty good at it when I was a kid.
Does anyone know the name of it? It was something like "Galactic Empire" or "Galactic Conquest", but I can't find any information on it. I'd love to play that game again...

Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Speed needs some new XBLA games
|
on: 31 May 2009, 18:29:58
|
Hi all,
It's been a while since I've posted here, mainly due to moving, getting a new job, and starting up my MBA. Woo hoo. Anywho, a buddy of mine is friends with another person who is able to get us points cards for free. I'm not going into details, but we're not talking "five-finger discount".
ANYWAY, I'm looking to get some new XBLA games with these points which I'm about to receive, but I don't really know what to get.
I already plan on getting Mega Man 9 with the points, so don't suggest that. I'm also going to be picking up the GTA add-ons and the two Watchmen games when they appear on physical disc, so don't bother suggesting them either.
This is what I already have: Aegis Wing Alien Hominid Arkadian Warriors Assault Heroes Banjo-Kazooie Battlestar Galactica Bejeweled 2 Bionic Commando Rearmed Boom Boom Rocket Brain Challenge Carcassonne Catan Cloning Clyde Dig Dug Doom Doritos' Dash of Destruction Fable II - Pub Games Feeding Frenzy Galaga Galaga Legions Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved Hardwood Backgammon Hasbro Family Game Night - Battleship Heavy Weapon: Atomic Tank Hexic HD Luxor 2 Marathon: Durandal Marble Blast Ultra Mr. Driller Online Ms. Pac-Man New Rally X Outpost Kaloki X Pac-Man Pac-Man: Championship Edition Rez HD Samurai Shodown II Small Arms Soul Calibur Streets of Rage II Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Texas Hold'em Time Pilot Totemball Undertow Uno Virtual On: Oratorio Tengram Wik: Fable of Souls Wing Commander Arena Xevious Yaris
So, any suggestions?

Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / My first car
|
on: 29 June 2008, 07:18:41
|
It's a 1995 Honda Civic LX that I've named Killswitch. It's two-toned because the last owner's wife got it in a small accident. The front of the car had to be replaced (the engine and all were fine, it was just some cosmetic body work), so it's all good. Quite a steal for $2200.
Oh yeah, and that's my fine ass in one of the pictures.

Here's mine:

I usually play Halo 3 and the sex and violence-filled game Uno on there, although I'm up for games of Call of Juarez and Marathon: Durandal if anyone wants to play.
