As the days ease by, I am growing ever more excited for the wedding. We've arranged our vows, I'm getting last minute things done, people are giving last minute confirmations or declinations of their attendance, and we're trying to figure out when I have time to get the wedding license.
Seeing as some people have specifically asked, the flower crown will have delphiniums and a bunch of other flowers, mostly blue, that I forgot to write down, and will be tied with a black ribbon. The bouquet will have hyacinth, kermits and irises and some other things I forgot to write down. There will be a large bouquet for decoration as well.
We'll be using false petals for the flower girl to throw, and small false flowers for table decorations.
This Sunday, I get to see my dress in its entirity. It's simple, but it's lovely. I'm very excited.
We're receiving wedding gifts in the mail, and it's very hard not to open them. Next Wednesday, Ray's folks arrive. I've never met them in person before, so I am admittedly a bit nervous.
This sinus infection seems to be clearing up. My ears don't hurt, and my sore throat is abating, though the laryngitis had better be gone before the wedding or I will have to do something drastic to it.
In short, days is busy. :D

Haiku was just eating my brain It was flowing with minimal strain But now I am stuck Mind #####-out-of-luck As my focus goes SWOOSH down the drain
The limerick now, it would seem Is the focus of unconscious dream Expression of thought To keep braincells taut Is the purpose of this thing, I deem.

Since I can't find the old Haiku thread (if it even made it to this version), I'm making a more all-encompassing thread for literate art.
Any kind of poetry is welcome.
I'll start us off:
Windy skies and trees Bright sunshine and rain, snow, hail Weather is confused

I recently started playing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn again. I hadn't finished it with all the hullabaloo around the wedding and baby stuff, but now that things are mostly in-place, I have more time to focus on it.
Started playing Halo Reach last night with Ray and our friend. I'd forgotten how unobservant I am when playing Halo (to the game, not to my surroundings).

It kinda ruins the visual pun when everyone's running up with the pronunciation...
Oh, yeah! I totally found all my old linguistic books today.
Spanish: three various textbooks, one workbook, an English-Spanish dictionary, a 2500-word pocket translator, a book called "Wicked Spanish for the Traveller"
Japanese: High school Japanese textbook, College Japanese textbooks and spoken language workbook, Two books in Japanese
Miscellaneous: a book called "Latin for All Occasions", a textbook on the origin of language
It was a good day.

You folks must be looking for some emergency vasectomies with those disinfected wire clothes hangers, there.
Really, though, I'm happy to be having a baby. I'm terrified of certain aspects (childbirth), and anxious about others (health, finances), but it's just something that feels right. Feeling her swimming around is amazing, especially her adorable little kicks.
We're the first in our generation of our families to be expecting, too, so we have this outpouring of support and love. Hell, our wedding will be half family reunion. Family and friends we haven't seen in years have already told us they'll be there.
I haven't had so much as morning sickness yet (excluding actually being sick), and every checkup says we're both perfectly healthy.
Hearing her heart beating for the first time was incredible, and seeing her on the ultrasound just brought it home further. It's really an absoutely wonderful experience.

I don't have an answer, but I want to let you guys know that really, all or most of both parts have to rhyme.
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilic ovolcanoconiosis only has two syllables in common with ferocious, and shouldn't really count, however we'll accept it this time, since we're still in a learning curve.
Things like raccoon boon or others that have a two-syllable word then a one-syllable word are fine. Plurals should only be used if the other word also ends in an 's' sound. Hyphenated words can be used as a single word if it rhymes with the other.
I'm really stuck on JC's, so someone else gets to get it.

In case anyone has been concerned at our absences, ray and I are currently couchsurfing at my mom's (in the tiny, cramped office that used to be my bedroom), and don't have reliable interbutts.
Our prospected earliest move-in day for our place is the 10th.

Yup, a new game. Come up with a rhyming pair of words, give us a clue. First person to get it right gives the next clue.
Example: aromatic finger -> stinky pinky
I'll start.
A crime syndicate crustacean.

Yesterday, no work because of a migraine.
Today, I went to work, left two hours later with ten bucks in my pocket, and am told that I'll be called later for tutoring.
I've kinda needed some time off, so I guess this is good.
