^ This is what I heard. They're basically trying to turn DnD into WoW to get that demographic.
If you thought DnD couldn't get geekier...
WoW is nowhere near as geeky as DnD, thank you very much. 4.0 is giving those of us who've been playing for a while both good and bad things. Pros: Action Points You don't have to memorize spell lists Cons: No Druid class New character sheets to get used to I'd give a more in-depth list, but I haven't played 4.0 in over two months, and don't remember much else. I just remember that I didn't like how it flowed in gameplay, nor did I enjoy the campaign setting. It's too simplified with less customization, really it is. We won't play the RPGA (Wizards sanctioned DMs and games) anymore because they're ONLY playing 4.0, and because you can't play anything more evil than N. Then again, the RPGA is generally annoying. >_>;

ASR, I would strongly recommend listening to The Ongoing History of New Music. A good portion of them (Possibly all) are available as podcasts. (I'm not sure if the Wiki page links to the Podcasts page, though.) Though the basis is modern alt rock, it covers a wide variety of musical genre that are important to the foundation thereof. I used to listen to this religiously on the radio every Wednesday night, even after I stopped listening to the radio for its music. Speaking of that radio station (CFOX), I was curious if anyone knew if the SEEDS project was exclusive to Vancouver, or if it happens elsewhere, as well.

The Sex Pistols aren't "real" punk, despite their being integral in founding the movement.
They were created to promote a clothing store.
I reference the Ongoing History of New Music's special on the Sex Pistols.
PS: All for permanently turning this topic into something more useful (i.e. a music discussion topic rather than only saying what you're listening to), say, "Aye."

No strong opinion one way or another on '80s pop in general. Some of it is absolutely brilliant (U2), some of it is absolute ##### (punk).
I didn't know punk was a "four-letter word," there. Seriously, though, shut your mouth. Late 70s and 80s punk was kick-ass.

Hey, I was curious all of a sudden:
I know that most of us here were born in the 80s, and was wondering if anyone else got nostalgic comfort (or discomfort) from either music from the 80s, or from more recent music done in a specifically 80s style.
I should probably specify that even though mine is largely based around synthpop and synthrock, I'm not specifically referring to those, as there were other definite styles around in the 80s.
I figured this was an appropriate topic for this.

It's not "similar" when the situation down to the senses are exact.
For most dreams, though, I do agree. I'm just saying there are exceptions.

Unfortunately, evidence is shoddy as far as support of prophetic dreams goes, as one cannot show one's dream to another.
I've had dreams about small, but unlikely, situations that ended up happening to the letter of the dream weeks later; a specific example involves putting on overalls in a tent. (I never said I predicted anything important.)
My point is, until we can share our dreams in all of their phantom sensory glory, we can't prove yea or nay on this outside of experiences.
As you said, dreaming about something not as specific but still fairly close to what does happen in life is usually the person figuring out earlier on what is likely to happen if they / someone close to them keeps going down the path they are, or their subconscious telling the conscious that it noticed something wrong, and hence those dreams are more vivid.
I'm just specifying my version of the theory. I have no idea how much of that is in the generalized school of thought.

No, deja vu is an inexplicable feeling of repeating the same thing.
If you know that you dreamed about doing it, that's not inexplicable.

I think my dream actually had some sort of implication or meaning to it.
I've had directly prophetic dreams before, and though I don't think I'm actually going to be experiencing anything like what I dreamed about any time in the foreseeable future, usually, the dreams I remember most vividly have heralded something in my life.
Or maybe it's just like my superpower dream where I could shoot lasers out of my eyes and kill giant evil robots.
Whichever.

Fine, I know it's a necropost, but I didn't want to create a new topic if this one wasn't locked.
Last night, I had an odd dream whilst falling asleep.
I was falling at first.
I Jumped from the top of a waterfall, facing the falls, head to the ground.
I was fully sensual, except that I couldn't hear. I could feel and taste the spray from the waterfall and the wind rushing past. I could see everything in full colour. I could smell the mossy rocks.
There was no feeling of impending impact, only that of total weightlessness.
I fell until I reached the top of the mists at the base of the falls, then I dove under the water.
As soon as I was completely submerged, I opened my eyes, and saw that I was not in the water, but high above a fast-moving river with rocks jutting out in almost a defined pattern.
At that point, I realized that I could hear. The river's current was moving at the same pace as my pulse, and I was being swept along its path by the wind, and stopped at a large, deep pool.
At that point, everything stopped.
No sight.
No sound.
No taste.
No smell.
No touch.
Only thought, and the realization that I was fully asleep.
And after that, nothing.
I woke up almost twelve hours later, but in between, there was nothing.
It was ... interesting.

Except that I don't care.
It's not like I'm in anything else around here, either (not anymore, at least).
EDIT: I should probably make it clear that I'm not complaining about anything, just pointing it out.

We had teenagers overnight and again tonight.
I stabbed myself in the palm.
To be clear: The stabbing was not due to the kids. The tip of a butcher knife went into my hand as I was trying to scrape a pan. Fun #####. Not serious enough to need stitches, though.

Ahh, ankle. I'd forgotten how much you hate me.
I get to look for work on crutches (rather sprained ankle) and a deathcough. Thank you, Internets, for allowing non-personal interaction.
Though, at least I've got the crutches for this round, as last time I sprained my ankle, I was stuck at home for a week.
Also, MSI. :3 There's an interesting cover of Rush's Tom Sawyer on this album we got.

I've always imagined a kind of vehicle that was like a bike, but with car-like coverings.
Like, it's got the bike parts, except that it has kind of a bug's shell over it that attaches to the sides and has storage space.
Whatever that is, if it exists, it would be interesting.
I'm realizing more and more lately, though, that I'll probably never drive due to my epilepsy.
PS: STREEEEEEEETCH'd thread is stretched.
