901  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 15 September 2008, 03:11:54
Abe, this is the first time I will admit to this: You were right about Too Human.

After having played a total of 9 hours of this piece of #####, I don't think I'll ever pick this piece of crap up again. After getting sidetracked by various games for the last month, I went back to playing Too Human for all of 15 minutes.

#####. This. #####.

You know, I just love not having the ability to regain health on a semi-regular basis.

I love the fact that unless you're a healer class, you won't get health except for a health/drop ratio, which WON'T #####ING HELP YOU IF YOU'RE ALREADY #####ING DEAD.

I love super-cheap enemies which immediately attack you once you respawn.

I love how your enemies can nail you from miles away, yet your weapons won't be effect until you get within range...usually 30 feet away.

I love that armor and weapons take damage every time you die, making it so the things that should be saving your ass won't be of any use to you after you've died for the 66th time.

##### you Silicon Knights for releasing this piece of #####, ##### you for even THINKING that we'd want to do multiple run-throughs just so we can get our guy up to Level 50. At this point, I doubt I'll ever #####ing piece of ##### ever again. It's terrible; it makes you want to rip your dick off. But then I realized that I like my dick where it is, so I'm done playing this crap.

At this point, I don't give a flying ##### if they ever finish this trilogy. I'd even go so far as to say that Jumper: Griffin's Story is a better game. At least THAT was entertaining, and I felt like I got my money's worth.
902  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Fable II on: 14 September 2008, 14:49:46
Do people still go to yard sales/garage sales/illegal marketing?

There's a huge farmer's market/yard sale here every Friday at this place called the Green Dragon. People come from all over, including other states, to sell their stuff here. At the Green Dragon, you can find anything you pretty much want, legal and illegal, if you know who to talk to and you've got enough money. I got a switchblade there for $12.
903  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Do you plan to drink? yes/no. on: 14 September 2008, 14:45:05
I've done my fair share, partially to kill the pain of being human, and sometimes to have a good time.
904  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 9 September 2008, 15:02:55
I've been playing Mercenaries 2: World in Flames when I'm wide awake, and Fable II Pub Games when I'm laying in bed to go to sleep.
905  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Fable II on: 9 September 2008, 15:01:08
I bought the first off of the 360's classic dowload thing. I was happy.

You should have just picked up Fable: The Lost Chapters. There's a lot more to do in that game, and it probably would have cost less even if you bought it brand-new.

I'm looking forward to Fable II. I've already got it pre-ordered, and I've been playing the pub games for a while. I now have over 2500 gold saved up for my character.
906  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 24 August 2008, 16:54:18
I watched Equilibrium last night, solely because of Christian Bale. Some nice scenes, some neat lighting, but it just... wasn't very good. Fahrenheit 451 with eXtreme gun fights. Only part really worth seeing? The final fight scene. Everything else was meh.
I just don't think that being drugged into emotionlessness equals stern and uncompromising. If I can't buy into that, then the whole concept just sort of falls.
The idea of the drug in the movie, Prozium, is to remove the emotional highs and lows that normal people experience. That's why everyone walks around with a "meh" or stern appearance.

It does take some stuff from Fahrenheit 451, but it also borrows elements from 1984 and supposedly Brave New World (I say supposedly because I've never read it, thus, I can't confirm it).

I really like Equilibrium, although I will admit that if it weren't for the fight scenes that Kurt Wimmer dreams up, Equilibrium would have just been another Sci-fi Channel movie original.

Aside from the greatness of Jet Set Radio, do we ever agree on anything?

We agree that eachother's taste stingcks.

True, true.

Oh yeah, and I got my college transcripts the other day. It seems as though the only semesters where my GPA went up was AFTER I bought my Xbox 360.
908  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 22 August 2008, 23:25:39
I played the demo for all of 5 minutes.

Horrible.

Aside from the greatness of Jet Set Radio, do we ever agree on anything?

I just ate dinner at the Sonic restaurant by me. It was really good, they have the best onion rings ever.

Their corndogs are pretty awesome.
913  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog on: 11 August 2008, 07:25:14
I love Firefly and Serenity to pieces...but what I love more is Joss' anti-Fox stance that he had for years.

After they screwed over Firefly, he swore that he'd never work with Fox again, none of his work would ever appear on a Fox network, blah blah blah and so on.

So yeah, get ready to watch "Dollhouse" this fall on FOX.
914  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My first car on: 11 August 2008, 07:18:59
I just realized that no one questioned that the "Speed Racer" only JUST got his own car.

When I turned 16, I lived 10 minutes outside of the Philly city limits. Any place that we (us teenagers) needed to get to, you either walked, or took a bus or train. Never really any need for us to get a car except for pissing contests.

I donno, I thought Speed's first car would look a little more like...

It does look like that.

But only when I pop in the Alpha Team "Speed" (a Speed Racer theme song remix done back in 1993) cassette.
915  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My first car on: 22 July 2008, 04:04:43
Oh yeah, and I know this is some late news, but I got my license on July 9th. I wasn't sure that I would pass the parallel parking, but after I did, the rest was a piece of cake.
916  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 22 July 2008, 03:58:37
I like to say that I saw The Dark Knight this evening, but thanks to Yahoo!'s incorrect movie times, I can't. Thanks to this, I won't be able to see the movie for at least a week due to not having any more days off this week.

La-dee-#####ing-dah.
917  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 17 July 2008, 01:59:50
How was War Machine? Equally shiny and weird I assume. He I gets bad figures.

The figure wasn't weird aside from the fact that his hands are balled into fists and his belt is tilted on one side, but the shine on this figure seems to have worn off pretty easily in certain areas even though I never played with the figure.

Holy ##### the Too Human demo rocks! IT'S SO AWESOME!

922  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 10 July 2008, 07:21:02
I thought the movie was pretty good.
The girl lives in both the movie and the play, Bradbury noted this and while he didn't exactly agree with it, felt that it made the story better for general audiences
.
923  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 6 July 2008, 16:32:00
I got passes to an early screening of Hellboy II. That's gonna be dope.

How the hell do you keep getting passes to stuff?
924  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 5 July 2008, 05:58:54
I played some Aegis Wing the other night with 3 other people. That was pretty awesome, although I died a lot since I suck at the game.

926  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Why are we not FOAMING for the new Ghostbusters game? on: 1 July 2008, 15:18:23
Frankly, I never would have been able to handle him in a Ghostbusters movie.

His is just a different kind of humor.

I've never really liked any of his movies; they're great if you're 13, but once you get past 18...he's just not that good. I've got a copy of Tommy Boy that my old roommate gave me when he bought the new edition on DVD...I think I'll be watching City Dragon more often than that.
927  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 1 July 2008, 03:38:43
Wow, Alex Kidd is by far the cheapest son of a bitch bastard that I've ever encountered in this game.
928  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Why are we not FOAMING for the new Ghostbusters game? on: 1 July 2008, 03:36:10
The only thing that keeps me interested in this game is that Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis are writing it.

It makes me sad, but this is probably as close to Ghostbusters 3 as we're ever going to get.

No thanks to Chris Farley dying.
929  MegaMan Series / Classic Series / Re: The Official Mega Man 9 Topic on: 30 June 2008, 19:34:58
I once met an MC Sledgehammer at a party. And I was stunned. I was like, what. Seriously.

I've seen 17 minutes of a crappy kung fu flick called City Dragon starring MC Kung Fu. I want to meet that guy and find out what he's been up to since 1995 (when the movie was released).
930  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: What game are you playing? on: 30 June 2008, 19:21:15
I've been playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Sega Superstars Tennis, Bejeweled 2, and Texas Hold'em as of late.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has been getting really frustrating as I've progressed through the storyline. I currently don't have a squad with me to help take some of the fire, and this semi-realistic one-man army crap is starting to annoy me.

Sega Superstars Tennis is a lot more fun now that I've unlocked some of the mini-games. The whole Virtua Squad (wasn't it originally called Virtua Cop?) section is fun as all hell, as it's like you're playing the game with a tennis ball and racquet. The Space Harrier stuff sucks though.

Bejeweled 2 is great; I'm enjoying it a lot more than Hexic 2, although both are great games.

At first I sucked at Texas Hold'em, but I'm slowly learning the game. My only problem is that whenever one of the computer A.I.s goes "all in", they ALWAYS win that hand. Yet times when I have to go "all in", I never do. Cheap as ##### sometimes.
931  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Why are we not FOAMING for the new Ghostbusters game? on: 30 June 2008, 19:14:00
Due to my current money situation, the only games I currently care about are Too Human and Fable 2. If I was still in college with money to throw every which-way, then I'd pick up Ghostbusters the day it came out.
932  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Diablo III on: 30 June 2008, 19:12:50
Never even got near Diablo, Starcraft is more my thing..

Same here. I loved entering in cheat codes and then go on a huge rampage with a fleet of battle cruisers.
933  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: George Carlin has died. on: 30 June 2008, 19:09:36
Sucks that he died; his stuff from the 60s and 70s is classic. Nothing beats Al Sleet, the Hippy-Dippy Weatherman "And tonight we'll be getting a Canadian low, which is not to be confused with a Mexican high." "It's 70 degrees over at the airport, which is stupid, 'cause I don't know anybody that lives at the airport." lol. Good stuff.
934  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My first car on: 30 June 2008, 19:06:19
That car will live longer than you.

Wise decision.

Thanks. The guy I bought it from told me that as long as I don't get in a major accident, that car will run for close to forever. And with only 139,000 miles on it after 13 years of being on the road, that's pretty damn good.
935  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: My first car on: 29 June 2008, 15:45:21
My brother wanted a Saab for the longest time. Now he's driving a Chevy Lumina van that he doesn't take care of.
936  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / My first car on: 29 June 2008, 07:18:41
It's a 1995 Honda Civic LX that I've named Killswitch. It's two-toned because the last owner's wife got it in a small accident. The front of the car had to be replaced (the engine and all were fine, it was just some cosmetic body work), so it's all good. Quite a steal for $2200.

Oh yeah, and that's my fine ass in one of the pictures.
937  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: If you could hear the exact date of your death, would you? on: 26 June 2008, 17:40:29
I currently only have two things left on my bucket list, so I'm more or less set.

Sure, I wouldn't mind knowing when I was going to die.

944  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 14 June 2008, 06:08:44

That's the Dirty Harry series, dude.
946  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 10 June 2008, 17:32:28
I saw Taxi Driver the other night after picking it up at Wal-Mart for $6. Great movie...it kept me guessing the whole time because I really had no idea what Travis was going to do next.

I also watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last night with my folks. I thought it was pretty good and fun, but not great. It got more ridiculous as it went on, and I'm not sure that I really liked the whole sci-fi approach that they took with this one. Oh well; it was one hell of a ride and I wouldn't mind seeing another one.

947  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The "How Was Your Day?" Thread on: 8 June 2008, 05:43:13

Or perhaps I could get both, seeing as I like both series.
949  Non-MegaMan / Non-MegaMan Games / Re: Rock Band on: 3 June 2008, 16:06:15
I really want to get Rock Band. I was planning on getting it before I graduated from college, however, I rightly decided that my parents would be pissed enough after discovering that I had a 360 since September without ever telling them, so it would be in my best interests not to get it.

Now that I have my budgeting figured out, I think I'm going to save up whatever money I don't blow on entertainment (the bar, movies, and other video games) and put it towards Rock Band.
950  Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Re: The MOVIE Thread on: 3 June 2008, 16:00:58
I saw Prince Caspian last night. I thought it was pretty good, certainly a lot better than the first one. Hopefully this one makes enough money so they make Dawn Treader.

I also watched 17 minutes of City Dragon, a kung fu flick that I picked up over at a dollar store. Wow, this movie is amazingly terrible...starring M.C. Kung Fu. Who says everything in rhyme. Thankfully, I finished my lunch and popped it out of the DVD player...whether I pop this in again remains to be seen.
