My girlfriend took this picture of me while I was playing Dead Space. She doesn't like playing horror video games, but enjoys watching me play them. So I get stuck playing stuff like Alan Wake and Dead Space, while she hides under blankets and screams.

No Chew books at the comic book store, unfortunately.
Today I bought:
-Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America -Planet of the Apes: Old Gods (I had picked up Planet of the Apes: The Human War years ago and wanted to see where the series went). -Whatever issue of Fantastic Four it is where one of the members dies. First run. I'm not going to open it up from the bag.
I picked up Black Cat & Wolverine: Claws for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day.
Edit: I picked up some new stuff today. (2/12/11)
I bought the latest issue of Walking Dead Weekly for my girlfriend.
For myself, these graphic novels:
-Best of Marvel '95 (wtf? Collection of various issues of comics Marvel put out in 95. They should do this more often) -Captain America: Deathlok Lives -Spider-Man: India

Thanks to my girlfriend, I've been reading a lot of graphic novels as of late. For Christmas I got/bought:
-CBGB: OMFUG -Kevin Smith's Green Hornet Vol.1 -Scott Pilgrim Vol. 2 -Serenity: The Shepherd's tale -Tron: Betrayal
And these are the graphic novels/manga I bought last week/this week:
-Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Vol. 1 -G.I. Joe vs. Transformers III: The Art of War -Ghost Rider: Vicious Cycle (Vol. 1) -Ghost Rider: The Life and Death of Johnny Blaze (Vol. 2) -Hellblazer: The Family Man -Hellblazer: Chas - The Knowledge -Midnight Mover -Pathfinder -Siege (some Marvel series - the comic book store that my girlfriend and I go to was offering a 50% off special for getting it the day it came out)
Midnight Mover is some Oni series from 2004. I thought it was okay, but the first half reminded me too much of Sin City: The Hard Goodbye, and the second half was...odd. Like the writer couldn't figure out how to end it.

Yeah, the songs seem too happy. I liked the angsty themes.
It wasn't so much angsty, but it was an album appropriate for a barfight or speeding down the highway 40 miles over the speed limit. In other words - doing things that you probably shouldn't be doing.

I listened to some parts of it. It's not really anything compared to their first album. It has no character.
There's no bite to it. It's like meeting up with you protester friend who years ago was yelling "LET'S LYNCH THE LANDLORD!" and is now smoking a ton of grass every day "Can't we all...um, just get along? Peace and love, man!"

I recently beat the new Medal of Honor game. Definitely a game worth checking out; I wish that they had just given it a little bit more polish before they released it. The comparisons between Modern Warfare 2 and the new Medal of Honor are stupid, and I honestly got more of a reaction out of Medal of Honor. Then again, the biggest reaction I got out of Modern Warfare 2 was "#####ING #####, MY 360 JUST RED-RINGED!"
I'm currently playing Alan Wake when my girlfriend is around because she's been bugging me about it (she doesn't want to play, she just wants to watch). I'm not sure what game I'll play next. Maybe Enslaved.

Non-MegaMan / Any Other Business? / Please help out my library - 11/21/10

Hey guys, Sorry if this is considered spam, but my library is going to be running a book fair at Barnes & Noble on November 21st. Pretty much all it is, is that you go in on the 21st with the voucher, buy some stuff (minus stuff at Starbucks and a few other things), and my library gets a portion of the sales done through the day. In turn, we use this money to keep purchase new materials and keep our library running. You don't have to show up at Barnes & Noble; you can actually purchase stuff on their website - just make sure you use the number found on the voucher. If you are going to do it in-store, make sure you bring the voucher with you, otherwise the cashier won't know what you're talking about. Thanks in advance. Here's the event page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154753711234581And on MySpace: http://tinyurl.com/27x65naPlease invite your friends! Posted on: November 08, 2010, 09:24:53 AM

The 28th was Metty's birthday. He hasn't been around on this site for a long time, and I haven't talked to him for years. But in case he's floating around, I'd like to wish Metty a happy birthday.

With both It's A Pretty Funny Story and It's Kind Of A Funny Story in theaters at the same time, I can only imagine it'll get a bit confusing.
I had a conversation going while typing that message, so thank you for the correction. Also, ##### you.

What a wasted sammich...
The sandwich was from Quizno's; they helped us make a sub that would "explode"...filled with olives, peppers, and a ton of lettuce on a toasted roll that was cut completely open. That was actually the second take of the sandwich scene, because I winced right before getting hit. Since we didn't have a second sandwich to use, we had to pick up as much of the filing as we could and get it back on the flimsy roll. So what was a veggie sub now had dirt and twigs in there. Needless to say, I pretended to eat the roll for that shot. Posted on: August 07, 2010, 05:34:42 PM
...and we lost to a lame video. Robbed, really.

So the family friend who is taking me to the Star Wars concert got a call the other day. She got her tickets by donating money to PBS, and they did a raffle drawing with everyone else who got tickets through PBS. The prize was a private tour of the costumes and props on display before the concert, and after the concert...a meet-and-greet with Anthony Daniels, the actor who played C-3PO.

I picked up an absolute #####-ton of movies during the final days of the two Movie Gallery video rental stores in my area. Normally I'd just list everything, but that would make this post ridiculously long, so I'm going to attach a file.

My Saturday night was pretty awesome.
1) My roommate and I paid off the TV earlier in the week, and now it's just up to me paying off his part and then in July it gets moved into my room while he buys a big-ass TV for himself. He told me he'd knock $150 off of what I owe him if I picked up Blur for the Xbox 360 for him, which was $40 at K-mart at the time. WIN.
2) My buddy traded me a Tekken 6 fightstick and the two-disc version of Call of Duty 3 for a brand-new copy of Blur. Again, $40 at K-mart, so I win again.
3) Friend of the family called me up to ask if I wanted to go see Star Wars Live (you get to see a live orchestra play music from the Star Wars saga) with her in July for free.
4) I won a bet on the Liddell vs. Franklin bout in UFC 115, thus, I am saved from having to see Eclipse at the midnight showing with my co-worker.
