Check it out (Youtube)

Not a fan of recent MK games, but this looks like it could be interesting.

I'm a little turned away at the shot of Batman beating Jax's face in after jumping out a castle wall, as it looks fairly un-natural.

See, I'm not excited about the Mortal Kombat aspect, just because I think any MK game after IV is poop.

But a DC fighting game is fun, and that I'm excited about. And hey, I can't complain about some MK characters being in it.

Will his fatality be that cellophane S thing he did in that one movie?

I'm looking forward to it.

I could care less about the gore and fatalities; they were the only thing that kept the series alive back when the franchise first started, and the two only mattered when I was like, 8. I think it'll be interesting...I'm curious to see who will be in the line-up and how the DC superheroes' powers will be handled.

From what I've heard, the only characters that have been confirmed are Sub Zero, Scorpion, Batman, and Superman.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that it's still Mortal Kombat. All they're doing is trading in one gimmick for another.

Right, well, if they took the jumping out of MegaMan and replaced it with the cast of Cheers, it wouldn't be MegaMan.

Unless every 'jump' just blew up a castmember of cheers under his feet.

That doesn't make sense at all. Jumping is necessary to reach certain areas or to dodge foes and their attacks; it's a necessary part of the gameplay. The blood in Mortal Kombat isn't there for anything other than a shock factor that stopped being controversial around 1995.

Okay, more like replacing his blue armor for the cast of Cheers.

Anyhow, Mortal Kombat would be a boring ass fighter without the gore and we all know it. Hell, I've tried it through the options. It just lacks...inspiration without it. Besides, I'd be disguested having to see such characters ability to be awesome nerfed.

Exactly - if it wasn't for the gore and Fatalities, Mortal Kombat II wouldn't have been made. While I think that they aren't really necessary, it's going to be weird playing Mortal Kombat without it. Hopefully they'll take more time with the gameplay and stages this time around, since they won't have to focus on the gore factor.

I myself am looking forward to this but I kinda wished they kept the DC characters more street level, I mean if you're going to weaken the character or handicap him to make him playable is it really needed? Oh well.

Hmm, it'd be amazing to have Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) as a playable character.

Well, you gotta accept that to make a balanced fighting game, Mutants/heros will never all be balanced.

As a developer I'm sure they weigh in fanboys to game design, but Superman's near unstoppable power would ruin the game. I mean yeah...that'd be fun... beating sprees...

I get the feeling Batman would be eaten alive though. Probably literally. And someone like the Green Lantern could just encapsulate his enemy and drown them or pop em into space. Well...there are some fairly powerful Kombatants. I say free roam city with goal fights. You can train and snap civilians in half...that'd be awesome.

Still better than the pink baby doll that says "consumer whore" you get if you preorder Mega Man Starforce 2.

So Superman is on a level playing field in this game.
He is weak against kryptonite AND magic, and that's how they're doing it.
