Idea occurred to me just now. I don't mean just single tunes, although you can get that out of the way here too, I guess. I mean the whole game's music in general.

Personally, I think almost every track in X5 has a great, memorable sound to it... the arrangement is solid... not much to complain about.

Shortly after that is X4, mostly for the last Sigma stage and Cyber Peacock, and then X3.

So yeah, go ahead and choose three. Choose one more than once if you want, even.

X1 - absolutely amazing. Quality of every damn track in that game just blows me away, even the ones I don't particularly like (Storm Eagle).

X2 - Pure unbounded creativity, that's all I can say about it. Crystal Snail is among my favourite tunes from any game ever.

X3 - Two tracks stand out, Gravity Beetle and Toxic Seahorse. The rest are pretty good, but not nearly as epic as the two soundtracks which preceded it.

I love the X1 soundtrack.
The most recognizable and nostalgic to me.

X4 for me. I love the theme for Space Port and a lot of the other themes.

I vote for X4 as well. I also like the CM soundtrack, for the most part.

X1, X2, X4 and Command Mission in that order.  Though X5 and X6 do havesome of the best boss themes in the series.

So no to all.

I'd only remember if I heard it. I'd only hear it if I played it. I only play it if <any reason is a good reason to play MMX-X4>.

X5 and X6 for me. That's right.

The end credits theme for X6 was really good, it was a suitable theme for the end of the X series. OOPS THATS RIGHT X7 AND AXL AND MMZ HURRR

I liked the main theme of X5 a lot. I don't remember it now, but I liked it.

I liked it as well.
Getting that song was actually one of my main reasons for joining this place.

X5? That was the one that intro'd with the Light Capsule music from X1 and then went into a mix of some MM game's (I think Megaman 3) "Weapon Get" music.

EDIT: Light's Capsule? The hell is wrong with me? I mean the Zero dying part. And come to think of it I'm not sure the other part was "Weapon Get" either but it was something from another game.

It was just the Zero's death theme I thought....

It was Zero's theme and the Get Weapon from MM3. You're right Maj.

Actually the tune is X's theme, even though it's mostly Zero speaking when it plays.

Nope, it's Zero's dying theme.

Two arguments (well, there would have been two):

ONE: I would have argued using the OST but the track doesn't seem to even be on there :S

TWO: It plays twice, once in the opening stage, once when Zero dies. If it were a Zero Death theme, it would only have played when he died.

To counter any further argument, not only does it play the only time X speaks, but it does NOT play every time Zero speaks.

EDIT: Found the track, but either the title artist at Capcom sucks or whoever transcribed it at Atomic Fire sucks, and it's mislabeled "DEMO"

I really don't care what it's called, it's remembered as a sad Zero theme. Plays at his death, and plays when X gets his ass handed to him.
