Drew this for a contest at johndiesattheend.com.

You're supposed to write an Australian-themed fan-fiction for the book John Dies At The End, but I opted to draw instead. Stand out a bit, I guess? Don't even know if it's allowed, ha. I don't really even care. The prize is just a signed copy of the book.

It's really not very specific to the book at all, so you should be able to laugh at it.

Thanks.

And yes, the girl in the book only has one hand and it makes me laugh to look at the way I drew her stubby arm like that.

It turns out that the author of John Dies at the End (David Wong, I think) is a Cracked staff writer.

If you liked his book, ASR, you might enjoy some of his articles.

Yeah, he's the editor of Cracked. You have to submit your thing to the contest through the Cracked forums. I found out about JDatE via Cracked.

Sometimes I'll write about whatever random thought is on my mind, and the result is pretty decent. Here:

The perils of drawing with a pen!

Everything in that comic is something that actually happened although it's not all on the same day.

Even the Ryan Reynolds thing.

Yes.

Not telling why.

As good as I've gotten at drawing with a mouse, I feel like this needed to happen.

Maybe this means...

Ooo yes, the lack of one of those doo-hickies also are what's keeping me from doing comics and what not.

I agree that you should upload comics to a website or something.

Sooooo I had to redraw the entire first page because of a size error on my part, but no matter!

I'll be posting the first handful of pages here for everybody, because... why not? 10 pages max, I'm thinking. After that, I'm gonna' start keeping them to myself.

Anyway, here's a "tentatively final" first page - I'm still gonna' go back and fine-tune some things:

All I knew about Lincoln and Aqua Teen is that he's in the end credits (and acting all villainous). I did see bits of the movie with some friends last year but I wasn't paying attention and it was so random I doubt I'd remember even if I did notice Lincoln. Oh, wait, now I think I do remember something with him, since it was supposed to be an origin story and they were referencing the end credits, right? I don't know.

Either way, yeah, that doesn't really bother me or affect this at all. In this he's just a criminal, not flat-out evil or anything, and (SPOILERS!) he only time-travels once at the very end by escaping into a black hole sort of thing to get away from Booth, which leads him to Earth in our past. Then he tries to take over Earth and his first step is to become President of the United States, which is right about when Booth finally finds him.

I know it doesn't affect this, nor should it, I was just mentioning this reminded me of it.

Anyway yeah he's in the credits of the show, but what happens in those credits never had any explanation. In the movie, those scenes actually play out as sort of a prologue type of thing so you actually find out what was happening there.

Here at ASR Industries we strive to not be as insanely surreal and random as Aqua Teen Hunger Force, yet still retain the very important time-travelling Lincoln factor for our precious stoner demographic.
