No, it's nothing like it. Michael Jackson died just yesterday, but TheOnly had about 200 years to listen to Beethoven.
It IS sad. I was born to Vivaldi...

Well, orchestration itself lives on anyway, even though it's been mostly relegated to soundtracks, but there's still nothing to truly compare with Tchaikovsky in my book.

John Williams comes close, though. It could be argued is more or less undeniable that without his compositional brilliance Star Wars couldn't have possibly become what it did.

Every time I read "John Williams" I think somebody is talking about me.

William is my middle name.
My uncle used to call me John William, like William was my last name.

I know a guy name John Williams.

I just watched all six episodes of "Eastbound and Down" in one sitting with some friends, and... holy crap. I was blown away. It's a really good show. I mean, I wasn't expecting anything BAD, but... but I wasn't expecting something really really good. Which it was.

It was really really good.

I just watched some CNN and I feel more like an idiot than I have for the past few days. And when I'm pissed off for no reason I feel like an idiot. And I've been pissed off for no reason for the past few days.

I've been watching Grey's Anatomy ever since I finished House.

It's not even as remotely as good as House is, but I guess you shouldn't compare the two. The only similarity is that they both take place in a Hospital with Doctors as the main characters.

Regardless, I'll keep watching the show to keep my mind off House...

I also finally finished Doctor Who awhile ago. Next season will be awesome.

Why do you want your mind off House?

I watch a rerun of House almost every day because I'm self-destructive and go to bed at like 5am.

I'm not sure what the numbers are, so I'm assuming this is the latest one?

I agree it was awesome. And I said that to a frienemy (my friend's girlfriend that I have a lot of problems with who's also been in my class for three years) and then when she saw it she disagreed and I decided to never listen to anything she has to say again.

Yeah, the season finale of House was so good that I couldn't stop thinking about it for several days. That's why I'm trying to keep my mind off of it so that the first episode of Season 6 will be even awesomer.

I could watch older episodes but I dislike knowing what happens next. That, and I don't own any of the DVDs but then i guess i could just download them or something...

I love House but I've never consistently followed it. I've only seen scattered episodes, and I've never had any drive to set things aside and watch through the series in order... which I do with so many other shows.

Same.
I'll watch an episode or 2 on Hulu when I'm bored though.

I never really got that into House until the season when he was picking the new team. I never had a drive to go BACK and catch up in order, for that I just watch random episodes when it's on. You don't REALLY need to see it all in order, I think, or at least you didn't back then since new people were coming in. Anyway that when I just started watching every new one regularly.

::)

He's a #####ty comedian that is somehow popular. Worse than a Dane Cook.
He had a show that was also pretty #####ty. And I painfully sat through a special of his last night.

The upside is that the Gilbert Gottfried special I'd already seen that came on after it was made even funnier. And it was good to begin with.

Just watched last night's Entourage.

That might be the strongest Season 6 premiere I've seen for any show. As in, this show really SHOULD be running thin by now, but I'm just as eager to watch now as I was when I first started watching.

I keep forgetting that show exists.

I'm a few seasons behind at this point.

Thanks for the reminder, though my ratio at Demonoid hates you.

I hear OK to good things about Entourage but, for reasons I don't even know, I don't want to watch it.

This isn't a thing like Weeds and such where I just have no drive to watch it (yet), this is like... I don't want to.
I don't understand it either.

Entourage is just... it's just cool. And fun. And Ari is an extremely entertaining character. But it's also not all that great of a show... but don't get me wrong, because it IS great. It's just that there's a LOT of better stuff. The appeal is that it's always cool and it's always fun and you can live vicariously through these guys.

Entourage is more fun than engaging.

Tits and toys.

Also, Jeremy Piven has always been awesome. I don't know why he didn't catch on when he was doing movies, he has so much more talent than most comedy actors these days.

Entourage was my first taste of Jeremy Piven. He's got a starring role as a used car salesman in a comedy movie coming up, originally meant for Will Ferrell. "The Goods." Looks fantastic, and only because of him.

Grey's Anatomy should really be called "Important People Always Die" or something. Especially the parents of the main characters, they seem to be dropping like flies. Merideth (main character) almost died in one episode and I was actually expecting her to die because everybody else does.

An alternative title could be, "Everybody is Annoying (Especially Merideth) and Constantly Change Personalities after just One Episode." Ugh.

Really, two of my favourite characters left the show for storyline reasons, which are two reasons why I think it's annoying. Although one of them has her own show but it doesn't seem as good as this show. And this show isn't good anymore. I'm just finishing it and hoping that there isn't another cliff hanger at the end of this season or else I'm going to have to watch the next season too.

House and Grey's Anatomy are two COMPLETELY different shows save for the fact that their both medical dramas.

Grey's is General Hospital disguised as a prime-time drama.

One of my favourite things about House is that it's also a noun.

Another of my favourite things about House is that it's both a mystery drama and a doctor drama at once so I don't have to watch any of those horrible cop shows they have right now (which is every cop how right now).

I watched first episode of True Blood last night. It's the first time I've really liked anything vampire-related that I can remember. There are still parts of it that bother me, but I definitely like it. It's interesting how they incorporate vampires as a race of people in our society, making them subject to racism and all that.

Also, seriously, Mad Men is goddamn fantastic. I finished Season 2 the other night and I'm already antsy for the new season to start.

2 girls kissing.

Someone let me know when this episode happens in Heroes so I don't have to sit through the entire crappy season for it.

I almost checked out Dirty Sexy Money because Peter Krause is in it, who played Nate on Six Feet Under. And I know one of the writers on SFU is the creator of Dirty Sexy Money. But I'm pretty sure that's where the relationship ends.

Now that it's cancelled I don't have any real desire to watch it, plus the premise didn't seem too interesting to me. I also didn't hear anything exceptional about it. I don't know a single fan of it, so that hurts it, too.

But yes, I am very much aware of it.

I'll watch nearly anything, so long as it has a strong fanbase, is generally very well-praised, and at least appeals to me a little bit.

This recent year I stopped judging things based on premise alone, because I would have missed out on a ton of amazing shows that originally didn't interest me. Like Breaking Bad, which sounded like a lame rip-off of Weeds when instead it is very different, much more serious, and I love it much more. Or How I Met Your Mother, which I passed off as your everday trashy sitcom without even watching. Or Californication, which seemed extremely boring and stupid to me. Or Eastbound and Down, which I expected to be a dumb Will Ferrel-esque comedy. Or Mad Men, which at first had me turned off by the simple fact that it took place in the 60's but is now easily one of my all-time favorite shows.

Goddamnit, if I don't make it into the television industry in some form or another, I will be a very sad man.

Went to the movies with some friends.

Went to see "Moon."

There's not much to say without spoiling it. It's about a guy on the moon, harvesting solar energy and sending it back to earth. He is two weeks away from the end of his three year contract on the moon, he is alone on the station save for the robot that runs the station for him, Gurdy.

Things are never what they seem, and hence you have a story.

I give it thumbs up all the way, it was a little predictable, but damn good.

EDIT: I found the trailer
