So what have you guys been listening to? I've discovered how incredibly awesome MUSE is. Some new DJs too.

Currently listening to: Cheesy Holiday music...sigh

Muse?

MUSE?

...I'm listening to the sublime Psychopathics From Outer Space: Part 3, which is the new Psychopathic Records sampler album, or "mixtape" as idiots call them.

Other than that, pretty much every band I like put out great new CDs over the MMMless months... ICP, Bad Religion, KoRn, Blaze, Rydas, KottonMouth Kings, KingSpade.

New Dark Lotus is on the horizon, so that will make everything else seem crapulent upon it's arrival, which I await with great anticipation and eye wideness.

I remember talking about the new LP CD right before MMM went down 7 months ago, but I never got a chance to comment:

...it sucked.

Aside from that, I've mostly been sampling oldies and whatever else is on the radio... also, trying to survive the Crank That phase.

Yeah I've been a Muse fan for quite awhile.

My brother, who is a huge stoner, listens to some of the craziest music. I recently found an unlabled CD in my car, filled with some crazy psychadelic stuff. I hated it at first, and listened to it out of boredom. And now I think it's amazing.

Turned out to be "Ween", Chocolate and Cheese.

My tastes have changed drastically since I first joined this ol' place. I've become a HUGE Nightwish fan, and I've begun to listen to other bands that generally fit along the "metal" category like Tarot, Sonata Arctica and Kamelot, and more recently, Andre Matos and Tarja Turunen, the ex-vocalists of Angra and Nightwish, respectively, each doing their own solo ##### now. DZ got me into Emilie Autumn, as well. I love the violin.

I've also been looking into older stuff like Alice Cooper, W.A.S.P. and Judas Priest.

It's been long since I stopped caring about the mood of the songs that I listen to. I don't care if a song is dark or moody or, as most people call it, "emo". If I like the song I'll listen to it regardless of its mood.

My brother likes MUSE, and he also likes a slew of techno-dance music. I used to be BIG on electronica stuff, but now not so much. There is a Japanese composer who calls himself AQi Fzono who does various styles of music that intrigue me. I mainly came across him when I was looking for "Symphonic Techno" to see if it would come up with anything. I've also looked up "Jazz Metal" and got results. It's freakin' crazy.

Look up the band "Call Florence Pow". They are awesome- and virtually unheard of. Someone once accurately described them as "a mix between They Might Be Giants, Beck, and N.E.R.D."

Also, this band opened for TMBG called "Oppenheimer". They were pretty good. Very mellow, some good synth action.

Nightwish scored with a new singer. Pure win and I am looking forward to the concert.

Now after Summer Breeze, the Woodstock of Metal, I also started listening to Krypteria.

That and I did increasingly more karaoke.

And real Japanese buisness men trying to reach up Kian's skirt.

I've recently discovered I love Metal. Who knew?

Been listening to a lot of Black Sabbath (Iron Man and Johnny Blade, ##### YEAH!) and ACDC (Big Balls and TNT, mostly).

And this cover of a Manowar song called Thor. I forget who did the cover.

Discovered Tilly and the Wall. They involve tap-dancing in their music. It is a delight.

Listened to lots of Stars, Decemberists (Mariner's Revenge Song is ffuuunnn), Sufjan Stevens, Fingathing. A buddy sent me every Johnathan Coulton song in existence, which I have yet to listen to.

Spent most of today downloading Tori Amos songs. They're kinda background music for me, I think -- they're good, but only a few really catch me and make me sing along.

Because It's Midnite - Limozeen

I listen to a lot of things I snagged from OC Remix ages and ages ago. I mix it up with whatever songs float around like 'Higher and Higher' and 'Nice Weather for Ducks' by Lemon Jelly.

The Voices of The Lifestream and the Cave Story OC Remix cds are good.

I also enjoy Switchfoot and Offspring.

I'm really into the older stuff right now.

I used to be heavily into Daft Punk.  Still like it just don't listen to it as much.

I've heard songs that have bad lyrics, or bad dancing, bad beats, etc.
Never had I see one that had it all until the video. The beat is kind of catchy, but damn.

The "dance" doesn't go with the song at all, it's all off the beat. The lyrics are honestly among the most disjointed and retarded I've ever witnessed. A song can have dumb lyrics (take anything by Ying Yang Twins for instance) but they're usually all about the same thing. This song doesn't even have that.

I literally heard him say "Watch me do this Robocop".

...

Like, come on. Are you serious?

Mikey, Soulja Boy is like old chicken, he doesn't taste very good. Old chicken tastes better with stale, chalky mashed potatoes. Linkin Park is like stale, chalky mashed potatoes.

Whoever made that needs to realize that just because two songs line up together when played simultaneously doesn't mean that they SOUND good like that.

I've never had a problem with Linkin Park, by the way. In fact, I rather fancy them.

Soulja Boy, however, is just... ugh. This year has been a matter of endurance. I have literally heard this song... oh, over 500 times and I cannot stress how much I am NOT exaggerating.
