If I DID kill the Thresher Maw, it was pretty close. I mean like there were seconds left. Everyone SAID that I killed it so I assumed I did in like the last millisecond. And I figure I wouldn't get that praise if I had only survived it.

You're reminding me how fun that game was. I was a vanguard again for my first run, but infiltrator is also really fun.

I've only played an infiltrator in either, really. But yeah, if you killed the Thresher Maw people will talk about how noone's done that since Wrex did the Rite (although I killed tons of them on foot in the first game it took longer!). Using the M-90 Cain, as long you time it right, makes it easy to kill the Thresher Maw with like 3 minutes left on the timer.

But I'm pretty sure that's the only time I've used that weapon without killing myself in the process (it launches something like mini-nukes, for anyone who hasn't played).

They do have weapon upgrades but the upgrades themselves aren't customizable since they all just stack together. I would've been fine with it if they atleast made the weapon upgrades add some visual difference like changing the color of your bullets or something.

I never used the Cain because I was never able to get enough ammo for that gun. I played infiltrator on my first playthrough and did manage to kill the trasher maw before the timer by cloaking n' sniping and making my team members use their abilities constantly.

I'm on my third playthrough with my sentinel and since now there's enough DLC to keep the game feeling fresh I'll be getting back into ME2 again soon.

Put in 22 hours.

I'm gonna keep going, it's a fun game.

I had the wrong heavy weapon out, I'm pretty sure I was using the blackstorm singularity projector. The DLC one. Still, I was damaging it very slowly.

I think I barely beat the Thresher Maw the first time...

I just finished the game as an Engineer.. and started my (possibly last for a long time) playthrough as a Sentinel, the last class I haven't played.

First run was a Vanguard, charging is just so much fun. 2nd run was Infiltrator, gotta love having a Sniper so early.

I don't even use the sniper. I went invisible, came in close, incinerated a Krogan's armor, and then punched him down. That was the coolest thing for me ever.

Not enough ammo for the M-90 Cain? I don't understand this. I have never had this issue unless I'd JUST used it.

Anyway I use the sniper rifle a LOT. I'm only just getting into using the tactical cloak now, though. Really helpful when crippling synthetics in a firefight.

They do have weapon upgrades but the upgrades themselves aren't customizable since they all just stack together.

Not the kind upgrades I'm talking about but yeah.

I don't know if I'll play through it again. Not that I don't like the game a ton, but it's not really my thing to replay this kind of game, and I don't totally have the time.

It seems like the best part of it was the dialogue, and I have issues for some reason taking the asshole option in video games. So when I went for a renegade play-through I didn't get very far.

I think I'll rent it... but I know I'm gonna buy it eventually, which makes it feel like a waste of 10 dollars.

It's a slow-paced game - which I absolutely LOVE it for - and literally everything you can do in the game world is exciting, from hunting to playing poker to sidequests - the fact that not a single thing in the game so far has felt tedious to me is a huge testament to the game, because repetition and boredom is generally what turns me off from open-world games like this.

Hell, even riding a horse from town to town is great. You get to take in the sights and there's plenty to do along the way. You can fast travel, but 99% of the time I choose to ride the long way.

I don't mind slow paced games (y'all know about me and Mass Effect), but I don't know if I like the idea of it being slow paced. I'm gonna play it after I finish ME2, and I'll probably love it like everyone else. Just gotta decide whether to buy or TRY.

Been messing around with the newest BlazBlue lately, and trying to get into original Ultima Online on the side. Played BBCS so much in one setting that I got a lump on the joint on one of my fingers when I finished, and that never really went away... Are fighting games with 6 hours of nonstop 100+ matches supposed to do that...?

I have been playing ModNation Racing, it is THE most fun I have ever had with a racing game, you get to make your own kart, make you own character, and go crazy with making your own tracks. What makes the game really nice is that you can share your creations online, so yea. Am going to be playing this game for a loooong time to come.

I finally built my own computer, single player games abound!
I can run source games at 200fps on max settings, and I'm seeing what my computer can do.

Also, Steam is having a sale, I just bought Oblivion for $7.

I downloaded Earthworm Jim HD and Scott Pilgrim VS the World: The Game on my PS3.

Both games are awesome, especially Scott Pilgrim. Holy crap do I love the artwork on that game.

Also, the ending is amazing and every MegaMan fan will get the reference. :>

Just finished Other M.
It has completely defied my expectations; not only is it a good game, it also feels like Metroid.  Thus it is a good Metroid game in the same way Fusion is!  Hell, it's better than Fusion.  By a long beam.

You might be stuck on one path the whole way through, but it is one heck of a path.

Playing through that right now, generally liking it.  One or two serious issues aside, it's not a bad Metroid game in 3D.  No where near as good as the 2D games, but much, MUCH better than any of the Primes even with the few serious problems I have with Other M.

Plot is no worse than Fusion (I'd argue it's better myself) and I quite frankly don't see why people are pissing thier pants over it.

You guys, for me, are the first two people to say that they like it with an an actual opinion I'd listen to.

I'm completely on the fence but I've been replaying Fallout 3 right now anyway, so I didn't bother going out to get Other M, at least not yet.

Oh, yeah, I bought and played Other M. Generally liked it. I REALLY hated the excessive corny cut-scenes and the "search around for this very specific random thing we won't tell you about!" sequences.

However, I loved practically everything else. Really fun game and definitely worth your time if you can stomach the early 20-minutes or so of cut-scenes. Once the game gets rolling you forget about that horrible batch of crap and start having a lot of fun.

Yeah, the cutscenes and story I don't give a rat's ass about.

I don't remember having to search for anything in the game, though.  I was a lot of "Go here, do this" the whole way through... hence more like Fusion than the really excellent Metroid games where you DO have to wander around and find things with no direction.  Which I like.

Still tons of fun though.  I'm not thinking it has any replay value.  Not even for hard mode.

Between work and school I hardly have time for anything else!  But whenever I do get a chance, I've been playing Morrowind for a while.  :)  My character is Galadriel the Argonian Battlemage, who was raised by Altmer...so she's not "like" the other Argonians.

My boyfriend also made me three houses (one in Balmora, one in Al-druhn, and one in Pelagiad), all of which have a miniature guar version of my cat, Velcro, and the one in Balmora also includes his own Morrowind character (who is, coincidentally, also an Argonian).  He also made an object (like the propylon index) that allows me to teleport between my houses, and when my Great House Stronghold is built that will be included on there as well.  So I'm kind of spoiled I guess.... :)

Kind of, since it's still Morrowind and not Oblivion (but then I assume you're not particularly bothered by that anyway).

3D Dot Game Heroes.  A PS3 game I'm finally having fun with.  I love how it parodies pretty much every action RPG I've ever played and a good handful of other things, too.

... but the minigames.  Why must minigames be so infuriating?

I've heard that the main character in Lords of Shadow is kind of whiny and emo.  I'm curious to have another opinion on that because the game looks cool enough that I could probably just ignore or even enjoy that if that game part of the game is good enough.

As for playing games... I was playing through Metroid Zero Mission.  Tried to do a 15% run on normal mode.  I did it, but I don't think I want to do the same thing on hard.  Nope.

And now I have Fallout" New Vegas.  It's like Fallout 3, only it plays like the people who made the original Fallout had a hand in it this time, so the atmosphere and gameplay is more geared towards role playing than it is GO KILL BADGUYS SECURE POINT X.  You do some of that of course, but you can do it many more ways.

Still no idea if it's an awesome game, but so far it's better than FO3 around an equivalent amount of time.  So it's looking good.
