What game are you playing?

Lunar Silver Star Harmoney.  After something like 2 years, it was nice to dust off the PSP and get some of the obscene amount of money I spent on it back out of the damn thing.  ANYWAY, being one of my favorite RPGs I was quite excited for this, even if it was on PSP.  The game is simply #####ING AWESOME.  I have but two complaints on it.  The first is when you (or a monster) does ANY special move the screen goes black and all the animation plays out.  The black void is annoying.  I would have prefered to just keep the battle background up for it.  The second complaint is targeting things.  When you're all clumped up close, it's VERY hard to make out who is being targeted, even with whoever is selected glowing and a feather above them, it's THAT tight and the sprites are that jumbled.

Those are really kind of minor though, just annoying things that they could have fixed.  The music remixes are grand, the graphics are beautiful and oh so cute!  Interface is a bit less easy to use, but it offers a lot more options and looks a lot better.

Since I just got my PS3, I decided to get BorderLands, it's the first RPS I have ever played with TONS of stuff that you can add on to your player, I think my brother likes it more than I do since he keeps bragging on how tight the game is, so yea, fun shooter.

It's pretty fun. It's a bit sloppy controls-wise though.


Anyways, my roomy got the crack of the Starcraft II beta and has been playing like a maniac. I tried to run it on my machine but even with all graphical setting on their lowest I could only achieve 13 frames per second.

I need a desktop computer with a decent graphics card. Damn.

FFXIII...The leveling up system and battle system is something rather differant from the rest of FF games I've heard or played, personally, I like the new battle system but they should have kept the regular EXP leveling better.

Dante's Inferno was okay for a single playthrough, but it lacked polish.
It's platforming elements were weak, and the inability to hang from ledges was killer.
As a 360 person, it's an easy achievement whoring game.

Perfect Dark rerelease hit Live today. I've already spent like four hours on it.

The port is pretty good, although I wonder why they wouldn't add little things like configurable controls in (I've always been balls at aiming with my right thumb and was hoping to get a chance to remap the controls to Turok-style).

So when you catch up we will battle! Except I don't have direct access to a wireless connection right up in this bitch, so it will have to be strategic.

So apparently I picked a very good time to get back into Pokemon, because there are a whopping FIVE people I know and spend a lot of time with who also got it, four of whom got it without my knowledge. One of my roommates, her boyfriend, and three of my close friends. I feel like I'm in elementary school again! I can just go "hey guys let's do a battle" or "i need to trade so i can evolve my haunter" and BAM people are there!

"Playing" Final Fantasy XIII, 10 hours in and still waiting for a chance to do something other than walk in a straight line, continually press X in battle, and have some choice as to what to fill on the Crystarium (cough, sphere grid, cough). Not much of an FF game, but it's great as a semi-epic drama, and everything is SO PRETTY.

It's not a bad game, I absolutely love it! It's just that there's less customisation than I usually expect from an FF game.

There's a few things that aren't linear; you can choose which ability roles you gain first (although at the end of every area they're all going to be full anyway), and then you can pick between 2 weapons for each person (so far), and choose which weapons to level up (not quite sure how to use the upgrading feature most efficiently yet, either). I'm yet to use the "shops" for anything, as of yet, but I'm sure they'll be useful later?

Also, did I mention that everything is so pretty?

And Hope is a whiny turd. Everyone else is awesome (Chocobo chick!), and Vanille's accent isn't as bad as everyone's made it out to be.

I sort of thought customization was where FF started to go wrong. And then killing exploration was the way they followed up on the success of going wrong.

I think the idea is marvelous and I would have loved it as a kid, but now it's just kind of weird. I've used it a few times, but honestly it's really just an anytime-usage version of Rare Candy since it makes your Pokemon go up a level every walk.

Gyarados is currently fainted as of the Lance battle, and I'm not wasting my last Revive on him. Instead I usually use it on someone like Gengar so they use Curse again.

I'm one of those "even spread" guys. I can't stand when everyone on my team isn't around the same level, which also leads to them all being lower levels. I've already been working to bring Gyarados back up to speed.

For the record, I beat Lance and I'm already a couple gyms in for the Kanto region.

Most of my friends that have the game right now do it the same way as me, except for my roommate's boyfriend. Only one person is at the same spot as me, though, so she's the only one I can fairly fight. We've been trying to keep up with each other for just that reason. Everyone else is behind us.

it was SO down to the wire. He kept beating me down and I was backed into the tightest corner. I was on my last revive, and I was placing my bets on a Hypnosis and Dream Eater strategy. At the last second, I thought I was dead, but I had FOUR HP. Then my hypnosis MISSES, and then his THUNDER MISSES. Then I land it, and I ate his dreams away...

And he was already ticking me off by using FOUR FULL RESTORES so I knew if he used another one, I'd be dead. But it miraculously landed, and I won...

He killed all my buds. I was stuck on a "meat shield" strategy with revives. He's REALLY hard this time around.

Seeing you guys praise the new Pokemon games nonstop for a week was enough to bring me around, so I'm now the proud owner of Heart Gold plus yet another thing to carry around in my pocket (as if I didn't already have enough of those). Going to try it out later tonight.

As is my usual practice at electronics stores, as soon as I'd secured the primary purchase I immediately tore the place apart treasure-hunting. I wasn't disappointed - found what appeared to be the store's final copy of Raiden Fighters Aces, which is a major score for a shooter fan like me.

I highly suggest your party's average level to be around 50 or higher when you fight Lance.
