Complain however you want, but I liked the character regardless if she fit or not. They could change her design a little to make her fit and keep what about her is appealing, but obviously they didn't. In my opinion, they made it worse.

Weather or not you liked the design is irrelevant to the fact they made no substantative changes to it.  The fact you seem to think the superficial non changes they did make to it somehow ruin the "original" is also absurd because it's 99.99% the same.

This is all why I didn't vote for her anyway!

Everyone's saying she has a Star Force vibe, but I keep thinking it's something I'd see in a Square Enix game. Not the art style specifically but the weird clothing. It's ##### like that. People just eat it up these days. They'd pick that design no matter what game it was for. I thought it was too weird for Legends, based on the other character designs that I'd seen.

Having looked at the follow-up picture and not seen the original in a little while, I do not see the difference. I doubt most people do.

This has been a classic case of "LET'S LISTEN TO THE GAMERS AND GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT" with mediocre results.

Doubt it'll affect the gameplay though.

More like 90%.

What was "changed"?  Hair, Legs, arms and bandanna.  Hair is the same shape and style only scaled down a little, it's still the same hair.  Legs and arms have the most minor changes to some folds and buckels and structure but cover the same area in the same way with the same look.  Bandanna is a little smaller and moved up ever so slightly covering the tip of her chin, it's so minimal it's just as worthless a "change" as any of the others.

The character is exactly the same as when she was submitted in any sense that matters.

I still think that the orange-haired girl was the most Legends-feeling of all of the characters.  Her outfit was simplistic enough, and her character design was exactly like something you'd seen in Legends 2.

I would know, I documented all of the unique NPC models once.

I think it's the overt complexity of the new girl that make her a failure in regards to meshing with the Legends universe.  Even in her original form, which is so similar I didn't notice there was anything different until someone noticed, she looks wrong.

I would have been OK with the Indian looking one with blue hair.
But this I just don't get.

You guys would be arguing like this no matter which design they'd chosen.

On most of them, yes.  But not the Indian Girl.  She had a nice Legends vibe to her.

I actually did think that one was an interesting choice, but I don't think she ever stood a chance.

I have no issue with this one. I thought all the designs were pretty good and I think it fits in pretty well. I'm just not too nitpicky when it comes to MegaMan anymore, I guess.

Half of the first one, and ever since I've been looking for a used copy (at which point I would commandeer someone else's PS2/PS3.)

omgracist asdfhkllkjkds; (even though I agree it was a winning design)

Wait, the character had an original design or something? Somebody fill me in. Anyway, I don't really see the problem with the broad, if she looks too weird--well, so does everyone else in the game. There's a monkey with a roll of toilet paper for a body for #####sake.

Every character in all three Legends games has a rather distinct, yet simplistic style to them.
Every character.  From Megaman down to the most common NPCs in the games.

This kid's too busy in terms of design, and there's just something off about her.
MAYBE there will be some explanation for this mess at some point.  Maybe she's from an island where all of the people dress like mentally retarded parrots.

You never know.

Honestly, if there wasn't a contest and she was a Legends character anyway I honestly doubt that most people would be complaining.

Anyway, I did prefer the Indian girl (although I preferred the girl with the Mettaur Cap more), Japan wanted a different character to be the design as well.

Despite Sensei leading the U.S poll, and Yoshikawa leading the Japanese poll, Komaki's design was second place on both polls. They tallied up the numbers from both polls and Komaki's design ended up being the victor by having the most out of the first two.

Which is pretty bullcrap, but I guess if both polls was one poll we'd get the same result anyway

Both polls WERE one, that was the point of merging them.
And no, I would probably still be complaining, damn it, especially if she were a main character still.

"I see this blowing over and being just another one of those mysterious and ominous fallacies of gaming."

Well I was wrong. -1up
I'm ready to be crucified for my next statement. I don't see anything wrong with the character. I'm not THRILLED with the dcesign, but I don't see anything WRONG with it. Looing forward to the game too. I pray it's of the same quality the last two were.

Beating a dead horse but, my opinion will always remain the same.

The best quality was the hair (lengthwise).

They changed that.

I hate it.
