I'd say it's someone who looks like him. His cap is different from X5, but then again, Sigma's design in Maverick Hunter X (X1) is different as well.

It could be him.

I really don't think it's Signas.

He has a weak skinnier reploid body type. He doesn't half the clothes Signas has either. The only thing similar is the colours and the hat, a hat which could go on anyone who's some kid of general or authority position. Even Colonel has a hat like that.

That's the only time you see him actually 'in game' I think. The rest is during cut scenes.

I knew he was a medic of some sort but it seemed odd that you never really got to see him use his skills to aid you during the game. Even Douglass helped you during the game (story-plot-wise).

I dunno... X6 and 7 had Sigma, and they sucked alot. Command Mission had no Sigma and it was pretty good.

Sigma is like that annoying "friend" that lives down the street from you. No matter how much you try to get rid of them, they keep on coming back worse than ever. And they still have your phone number after 4 years, calling at 3am...

The real reason why Sigma keeps coming back is because he merged with the virus thus becoming the virus.  The Virus had his memory and personality and one of his many minions kept creating bodies for him.  So the virus could transfer itself into that body and become sigma once again.
